I refuse to accept Jared Leto as the Joker. His performance in Suicide Squad was just bad. And not as a Joker performance but as an acting performance itself. He’s a good actor, as seen in Dallas Buyers Club. But his Joker performance was just very bad overacting.

True, I like to think it was because Leto elected to focus on the worst or most negligible aspects of the Joker when he was prepping and method acting. That and his fucking terrible script and poor direction means it was destined to be a failure.
Like you said Leto has good performances like Fight Club, American Psycho and Dallas Buyer’s Club so yeah I think it was because everyone else sucked. You know your movie is fucked when Jai Courtney is one of your best actors.
He’s got talent but knowing the bullshit he pulled with his costars just completely turned me off of him.

I think he’s a typical example for someone who’s gained success and can’t deal with it.
And as I said, he is a good actor. Nothing more. I know many say he’s a method actor, but I disagree. I think he did some good acting like in Dallas Buyers club or Requiem. But that was mostly okay. Not even worth the Oscar (Barkhad Abdi would have deserved it much more in the year Leto won).

Originally I even thought, with him being method and being so terrible to his costars, at least he might have a good performance…and then it was absolutely garbage. Possibly the worst life action portrayal of the joker of all time.
Like, how are you terrorising women AND bad at the role? J e b u s.
I used to like the Joker more than I do now, but recent portrayals that have sunk into the comics have kind of turned me off. There are plenty of other characters to love though, so I’m not bothered.
