There is a difference? The OTS is forgettable and I wouldn’t be able to hum one tone if my life depended on it.

I’ve listened to the Paris soundtrack so many times. My other go-to would be the music for the training/yacht or Sapienza - The Icon. Not that the others are bad.

Edit: Well, the only tunes I don’t prefer are the ones for Patient Zero and Santa Fortuna.

The only theme that I remember as being good is the H3 main theme, but if i try to hum it, it ends up being the Star Wars Bounty Hunter Theme :joy:

One of my favorite Star Wars Games, together with Jedi Academy and Super Return of the Jedi.

I will never forgive Disney that they’ve canceled 1313. Never.

It’s alright. But you can basically sum it and every other theme of this trilogy up as generic action movie music. The best music from this trilogy that really set itself apart was the music from H16 announcement trailer and it isn’t even in the game.

I want IO to know Jesper Kyd’s location. If they can’t him, then get the guys who scored Absolution.

Jesper Kyd is the sound of Hitman. He’s the standard all others are measured against.

Absolut. There’s also the way the music is used, in the old Games there’s constantly music playing and rightly so because every track is a banger, while in the new games its basically only in the menu music playing, the rest is mostly ambient sounds etc.

I don’t want to shit on the music or outright call it bad. I think it’s serviceable and probably what IO asked for when they approached Niels Bye Nielsen to compose the music for the game. It’s just not memorable, if you switched it out for Inspections or the Dark Knight’s soundtrack, I probably wouldn’t notice. I believe that Niels Bye Nielsen is skilled enough to make something stand out, give each level it’s own unique sound.

Hitman is more then the standard modern spy/thriller soundtrack, the levels are their own character and so is the music. A great soundtrack can elevate a game, a movie to new hights. Even Absolution had a memorable soundtrack crafted by Peter Peter and Peter Kyed, I even used the main theme to play over Blood Moneys, to see if it worked.

I applaud IO for using Danish composers for Hitman, I hope they will continue to do that.
I hope we see Jesper Kyd down the road again. All his Hitman soundtracks are vastly different and playful.

Every now and then I listen to Kyd’s Hitman and the early Assassin’s Creed soundtrack that he composed since those are so good to listen, yet I rarely listen to the soundtrack from Absolution and WoA. H2 2018 soundtrack is the most memorable because it feels the least like a James Bond rip-off but that’s about it.
And I agree with Norseman, it’s not Niels’ fault that it sounds so generic and passable, IO is the one that tells him how the soundtrack should be like.

Where I think if you approach a composer like Jesper Kyd, you are giving him more free-range as how to approach the music. In Providence trilogy they likely went shopping for composers who could create a 007 inspired set of themes.
