In my opinion, the larger narrative of the game was indeed lazy and most of the story elements after the death of the Partners felt underwhelming and/or out of place(like Grey’s death, the end of the ICA or Diana’s “betrayal”).
Grey is a really mysterious character and I would have liked to find out more about him and about his past.Tbh,I didn’t really like him in H2,but after Dubai,I started to understand him better. However, when I actually started to like him, they…simply killed him…
Then comes the whole ICA story and what can I say…It felt like Absolution’s story all over again(except it was actually good this time, but this still doesn’t mean it wasn’t underwhelming.)
And finally:the end of Providence.Diana betrays you and allies with the main enemy of the game.Fascinating story,am I right?Yes,it was…in Blood Money…
However,I can’t complain too much because I think that the story within the missions improved a lot though and this story is in my opinion the most important one,not the overall story of the game.
There were a lot of cool cinematic moments like infiltrating the Sceptre in the skydibing suit, walking alone around the gas station/in the forest looking for Olivia, exfiltrating the ICA facility after accessing the data core, the tango with Diana or 47’s dreams at the beginning of Untouchable.
The mission stories also actually felt like hey were indeed stories, not just some complex opportunities to kill the targets(like in H1 and H2) because they revealed a lot about the targets’ personality and felt more cinematic.Listening to Grey’s discussion with Carl Ingram and Marcus Stuyvesant in Dubai, investigating Zachary’s death as a detective and Alexa’s speech before commiting suicide in Dartmoor, the tour of the ICA facility in Chongqing or killing Tamara/Yates(especially the Closing statement mission story) with Diana’s help in Mendoza were all such great and iconic moments.
So,as a conclusion, yes, the larger narrative was really underwhelming for me and too many story elements from the previous hitman games were reused, but the story within each level was perfectly executed from my own perspective.
I happen to be reading Violence. Speed. Momentum. The memoir of Dr Disrespect. I will match your lazy writing bet for H3 dialogue and raise you this, one of his phrases, for an entire page …
It depends on the map, really. On all Season 3 maps, Paris, Miami, and a few others that show a great part of the layout, they’re awesome. But then there’s maps like Santa Fortuna where it just looks unnecessary and awkward.
Birthday suit would be grand, but I doubt IOI will spend the time modeling 47’s bits n pieces. I’ll take the speedo at this point, but it’ll probably be a shiny red three piece suit with like lips all over it or something.
Overall I find the MCU to be extremely okay. There are a few films that I like, The Winter Solider, Civil War, Iron man & 3 and Infinity War. The rest is cookie cutter joy rides, which is fun. But I kind of have to agree with Martion Scorsese regarding Superhero films. It’s not great cinema and neither is Star Wars, but I love Star Wars warts and all.
I’m pretty sure people who drink their coffee black are doing so purely to punish their tastebuds. Oh you hate that nasty tasting shit? Have some more!!
