Yes. Someone clapped in our house when I was home alone 13 years ago and I’ve never been the same since

Yes. I’ve seen one. It wasn’t particularly scary though. He was just going about his business, but the fact that he was a white gentleman dressed like it was still 1750 and walking through my house gave me a big clue that he was not of this realm.

Eugh thats disturbing. How did your parents react when you told them?

The closest thing I would consider to be a ‘paranormal experience’ :man_shrugging: would be when I was in my early teens… I think I heard my mother’s voice or some female voice call me into the kitchen. I walked in there, but she wasn’t there… She was actually in another room on the other side of the house. Because I walked back to the living room and when I did I seen these wet foot prints like they were from a small child on the wooden floor, about 4 or 5 steps with a small puddle nearby. And there were no small children or babies in the house, and certainly no way for water to have been there in the floor (not even an indoor pet to have an “accident”). I thought it was very weird to be there, but didn’t think too much about it. I called out to my mom to see what she wanted and she answered from the other room. She said she didn’t call me.

We had lived in that house for several years at that point. It used to be a church…

They shrugged it off and said it was imaginary.

Around this time, I used to startle our cats by clapping randomly just to see them jump, and after this I stopped that. If anything it was a spectre looking over our cats lol

If I ever see a ghost in bell bottoms I’ll reconsider but it seems like people only ever see Victorians

Lots of coffee haters here I see.

I love an espresso in the AM with my cigarette or in the evening after dinner.

I’m fascinated how you convert a church into a house. And honestly, your story of a child’s footprints in wet water in what used to be a church, maybe water from a baptism?

Just converted to coffee in the last year. I work from 5pm to past 11pm delivering pizzas, so really want to do anything to avoid getting tired late in my shift and I have to drive my car. Just drink some Nescafe instant coffee with some milk, either right before my shift or in a thermos in my car.

Anyway, I’m thinking of making a thread dedicated exclusively about talking shows and channels that play internet content, like Youtube and other video sites. Not sure if anyone is interested in a thread like that, I tend to watch more Youtube than actual TV or movies.

Would you be interested in a Youtube (and other internet shows) thread?

The interior was mostly a large open space. There were 2 bathrooms towards the front, and 3 other rooms towards the back. Walls were taken out for most of the rooms, then rooms added in the large space. The original ceiling was so high that my Dad had put in a 2nd lower level of rafters for all the rooms. As for the outside… The roof didn’t have a high angle of pitch like most traditional church buildings. So that was a plus.

Re: the small, wet foot prints. I’ve had the thought of something related to a baptism too. Hopefully it was from a cherub or any other benevolent entity. …and not from a small child that died shortly after being baptized. :anguished:

I had one similar. While touring a historic home, we were shown a room referred to as the “sick room.” The tour guide said it was where the lady of the house spent her last days alive.

Well, I instantly started getting dizzy and near the point my vision became spotted. Crazy part was another woman from our group also had to step away with me because she was feeling the exact same thing.

I’ve had a few other experiences, but that by far the freakiest one yet.

You ain’t lying there! :joy: Where are our ghosts wearing fancy Armani suits, 80s neon workout gear and early 2000s low-rise jeans?

And finally, a poll… which do you prefer?

On most sites i prefer dark mode but i think hmf lightmode looks so much better then its dark counterpart

I used to have everything in dark mode but recently I decided to leave my settings for the sites I use the default setting - that in turn leads to using light mode for everything now. I mainly dislike that you have to bother going through settings to switch to dark mode when you’re signing up for something, so they’re now reverted to light mode to keep it universal. Plus it helps me keep focused during late nights if I’m reading something.

If you pick light mode you’re a masochist.

So, first Eurovision semi-final has aired. This saw 16 entries whittled down to 10 which will enter the final on Saturday. Probably the most shocking drop out is for Ireland. Oh and Israel has qualified, sure that is going to be fun, although I believe the live audience is only 3,500 strong this time so maybe less disruptions than usual. (I’m sure Greece and Cyprus will still get booed during the voting regardless.)

So, for anyone who has sometime on their hands, any thoughts on the 6 that were disqualified?
