Your Personality Type

I’m curious if anyone is interested in their own personality? Certainly, there are many websites out there dedicated on the subject, from in-depth quizzes to fun ones about finding your spirit animal or what your Hogwarts house is. (Apparently I am a deer and a Hufflepuff.)

To me, the best out there is the Myers-Briggs personality test, which sorts you into one of sixteen personality types. There is a site dedicated to this which has a very in-depth quiz, and a very detailed account for what each personality is like in terms of friends, relationships, work, strengths, weaknesses etc. If you have the time, I highly recommend it. (I’m an INFP.)

16 Personalities

I am curious what you think of your own personality and how it affects your thinking.

The Advocate personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As members of the Diplomat Role group, Advocates have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is that they are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.

Advocates tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.

Help Me Help You
Advocates indeed share a unique combination of traits: though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in. They are decisive and strong-willed, but will rarely use that energy for personal gain – Advocates will act with creativity, imagination, conviction and sensitivity not to create advantage, but to create balance. Egalitarianism and karma are very attractive ideas to Advocates, and they tend to believe that nothing would help the world so much as using love and compassion to soften the hearts of tyrants.

Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
Martin Luther King

Advocates find it easy to make connections with others, and have a talent for warm, sensitive language, speaking in human terms, rather than with pure logic and fact. It makes sense that their friends and colleagues will come to think of them as quiet Extraverted types, but they would all do well to remember that Advocates need time alone to decompress and recharge, and to not become too alarmed when they suddenly withdraw. Advocates take great care of other’s feelings, and they expect the favor to be returned – sometimes that means giving them the space they need for a few days.

Live to Fight Another Day
Really though, it is most important for Advocates to remember to take care of themselves. The passion of their convictions is perfectly capable of carrying them past their breaking point and if their zeal gets out of hand, they can find themselves exhausted, unhealthy and stressed. This becomes especially apparent when Advocates find themselves up against conflict and criticism – their sensitivity forces them to do everything they can to evade these seemingly personal attacks, but when the circumstances are unavoidable, they can fight back in highly irrational, unhelpful ways.

To Advocates, the world is a place full of inequity – but it doesn’t have to be. No other personality type is better suited to create a movement to right a wrong, no matter how big or small. Advocates just need to remember that while they’re busy taking care of the world, they need to take care of themselves, too.

I feel like an open book after reading the above.

I got the same result (INFJ-T). “Strange” considering it’s supposed to be so rare. Some of it sounds about right to me, and other stuff doesn’t-

Sort of half reads like a horoscope to me (kind of vague and general and covering multiple bases).
I haven’t looked deeper into this, but I suspect this system isn’t exactly without criticism.

Maybe Hitman fans are more likely to be INFJ?

I do agree to an extent. The whole percent thing is a little questionable, but it is between 16 personality types, and a couple of them they claim take up 10% or 12%. Not to mention the accuracy is always going to be questionable. When I did the quiz a while back, I actually got ISFP, with the S barely edging out the N. However when I looked at the biographies for ISFP and INFP, I realised that INFP was far more in line with my personality than the former.

With stuff like this, it is definetly a good idea to take it with some salt. I try and use it to help get a better grip on myself, since the INFP description is very close to myself in real life.

I took this test from a leadership program at work and I was assigned an ENTJ personality. However, taking this quick online test, I was assigned an ENTP personality. I am definitely an ENT, but my planning/scheduling variable (J or P) varies. I would consider myself both, because for work I maintain a rigurous schedule, but for personal life I keep a rubberband schedule.

It says I’m an Entrepeneur type. Dunno what to say about it. At least some of the options were spot on, like me tending to be pretty anxious and insecure at times. Won’t deny that lately I don’t consider myself “good enough”.

I’m a commander.

Got the architect , which to this site is one of the rarest personality types and only make up 2% of the population.

My idol Arnold Schwarzenegger got the same personality profile, that was nice to see.

The personality profile do fit my character very well and how I see thing. It’s always fun to see how these tests turns out.

He’s in Vienna now. So f*** close to me. I still have to go to Gratz to visit his house.

Still part of my plan, I really want to go and see his childhood home. Especially after reading his biography last year.

I was there last November. 12 km away from the highway I was on. But my best friend didn’t really wanted to go because he was short on money so do I. But we regretted it some days after.
I might go to visit there this September if I find some one to make me company.

Apparently I am a “Defender (ISFJ-A)”

A very introverted, observant, free-thinking person.

People with the Architect personality type are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but they do not squander their energy.

Last time I took this test I got some weird results that didn’t really fit with many things about me so I don’t trust it really

Debater here. I’m surprised at how accurate this test was.

I got the Logician, it was more accurate than I thought it wold be.

I do think comparing myself to Einstein is maybe going a little to far…

… for the moment :smirk:

I am Architect (INTJ-T)…huh.

I get INFP whenever I take that test and it’s pretty accurate I reckon. It’s a shame my type is the most destined to be fucked for life out of them all but at least I get to compare myself to cool characters from movies and that cos for some reason every character ever seems like one. Or maybe I’m just making connections where there aren’t any and trying to see myself in people that I respect. Either way that aspect is fun. The actual being an INFP bit is awful though, wouldn’t recommend, please boycott INFPs I demand a refund FUCK

Where have you been all this time?
