Yeah their stuff tends to be nonsensical like the lyric, “her love’s a pony”… but to me that doesn’t take away from the sound
even nonsensical stuff can be great if its consistent in its quality as individual lines (or verses) and stylistic continuity of the entire lyrics. they do manage to insert a handful of great ones only to ruin it with something as dumb as rhyming “bluff” and “and stuff”. i agree that the first album is full of awesome tracks regardless
