Map sizes of all three Hitman games?

Is there any official top list of the sizes of the maps in all 3 Hitmans?
I want to make my tactics for Freelancer, based on the size of the map, but I can’t estimate their sizes. I would say W.Creek is the smallest, and Sapienza or Isle of Sgail the biggest, but then I could be wrong. Plus I would really like to see the listed data.

(I didn’t want to put it in the Freelancer section, so that more people could see this, since this doesn’t concern Freelancer subject only)

Santa Fortuna and Haven are way bigger than Sapienza. In fact Santa Fortuna is so big that it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a slog in Freelancer

There is no official dimentions or scales or anything like that exist from my knowledge

That is my point. Now we’re estimating here. Is there a list?

There’s no map size list.

But I’m assuming every map on hitmaps.com is to the same scale, so you could go there and view maps side by side until you’ve created your own list.

I assume it would be very similar to any list a regular player could come up with from memory and map knowledge.

It’s not the size of the map, it’s the motion of the… Wait. :joy:

Hawke’s Bay all like, “yeah boi, I got the raw map size AND the literal motion in the ocean!”

There’s so much beach! I always wanted a surfing competition level farther down the sand. Temporary structures sorta like the food vendors in Miami and some make shift grandstands.

Uncle Dane did a video about calculating the sizes of TF2 maps and I think his methodology should be mentioned if anyone wants to seriously calculate playable space in the Hitman maps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9ieN1ACfP4

I don’t think size alone would be very imformative for “tactics for Freelancer”.
There are more factors than surface area that go into how a map plays. Hawke’s Bay I think illustrates my point (even if it isn’t in Freelancer), the map is huge as others have pointed out, but is mostly empty and centered on a small part of it. Berlin would probably be another “oversized” map due to its forest and gas station areas. Mendoza is an intersting one since from my experience all showdowns there had every suspect only roam the villa+party area which also makes the “action area” smaller.

Other things I’d consider when ranking map difficulty would be:

  • Amount of sniper sightlines allowing to quickly clear targets in specific common areas, alongside their accessibility (like how Sapienza has the rooftop by the ICA safehouse and church tower near morgue start both overseeing the beach area).

  • How annoying are the fortresses to enter (I’d rather have to deal with a target in Janus’ house than Cross’ studio).

  • Whether the map is multi-faction/multi-fortress (Marrakesh, Mumbai) or not (Paris, Sapienza) as the former can lead to some of the most annoying walking times if target RNG scatters them all over the place.

  • And most importantly your own subjective experiences and feelings about the map.

Though calculating the playable area of all maps is not something I’m against, since it’d still be nice to know.

I started playing Freelancer again here and there, still use the eame tactic: skip Colorado, Haven Island, Ambrose Island & Isle Of Sgail whenever possible. :joy:

I don’t mind them, it’s just if given the choice, there’s better maps.
