I’m like slightly sure that if these milestones aren’t meant they will be released elsewhere. The milestone rewards is just a way for the community to toss around free advertisement and word of mouth for the game to garner further sales.
Postal 2 Redux did it for the Kickstarter, and were met with the campaign already meeting its main funding goal because of it steadily reaching all others aswell.
I’m okay with this type of advertising because its simply a harmless one and done transaction. The only downside is if they aren’t met they might be repackaged in a paid for dlc which would suck.
I’m gonna wait for them to confirm if the game will need to connect to a server to play it to it’s full capacity. If so, I’ll pass. Hitman WOA is the last time I wanna deal with that nonsense for a series that so far has been mostly single player.
Not necessarily. There are many games that are offline, and the only online component is to log into a publisher/dev account for reward redemptions and is entirely optional.
Given their love of money, offline is entirely possible so that they don’t have to spend money on servers. The fact they’ve had complaints about it with WoA for almost a decade won’t be part of the decision at all.
I’m coming at this with the expectation of the worst practices staying prevelent, and being pleasently suprised if they aren’t the case.
This time, however, IOI isn’t being mandated by Square Enix, or going through buybacks and getting stuck with what they had.
I hope they do evaluate correctly in this regard, and I’m glad the vocalizations about always online worries are still there. I have the luxury of a stable online connection and haven’t felt the pains others have, but ultimatly my issues are more on the preservation side (though modding basically has this covered).
It’s not just the earbuds, it’s the case too.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a devices / clacker item.
(I mean “common/slightly boring object you fidget with and situations that are waiting to be revealed as badass” is a staple of action fantasy resonance. Also see every single action set-piece taking place in mass transportation.)
And @thrison I’m fairly certain by now that items won’t have reskin duplicates, but “skins” applied to the single version of it. (presumably at the Q section).
Customization might be back.
We did glimpse the PPK with an added accessory to the trigger guard in the trailer.
(also avoid both nullifying the level design by having too many of one item available, and not flooding the inventory. Both are issues in Hitman.)
Speaking in the 007 News.
Social Media posts make it clear that journalists and influencers are currenlt meeting with IOI behind the scene, under schedules.
For “exclusive presentation”.
That they do “again” every day.
IOI is showcasing 25 minutes of gameplay to press, but they have to sign an NDA.
A Brazilian article was released early about it: https://www.comboinfinito.com.br/principal/007-first-light-preview/
The NDA lasts until Sep 3rd, so we will probably get a gameplay reveal then.
The ear buds are most likely for scanning the environment btw.
The ping/sonar seen in the trailer for the earbuds was one of my guess.
Mostly because it would be interesting to have the instinct equivalent be a loadout item.
I have no clue what any of this means lol. Please enlighten my thick skull.
Being a ping/sonar for area scanning crossed my mind too. Bit videogamey to put on headphones that emit pings not audible to anyone else and providing a 3D image to the user though. And even still, for what reason does that item need a skin? Guess we’ll see soon enough.
Do we really need any alternative skins on anything? Not really. They just make the games more fun when you can swap clothing, weapon colours, gear colours etc.
@BlossomFox
I have secret info. I doubt there is a multiplayer death match, but it sure was fun on the N64 007 game.
