Also, even if personally someone doesn’t mind the concept of pre-ordering from their own individual perspective, they can simultaneously make a decision based on the collective good of their fellow consumers and choose not to partake in the practice in an act of solidarity with fellow working stiffs.
“I would like you to join HIS Majesty’s Secret Service”
It just hit me that this will be the first incarnation of James Bond EVER to not be in service to the Queen… such a simple line but it really does drive home that this Bond will be more “modern” than ever…
Technically untrue (but practically true, nonetheless). In Casino Royale (1967) while the real James Bond is in the queen’s service, all the other James Bonds are in the service of Sir James Bond himself, rather than the queen. It’s not an officially recognized nor authorized movie but the people who made it owned the rights to the book at the time. It’s a parody at best and a very bad movie in any sense though.
“The full main campaign is playable offline” does sound like more wiggle room than WOA gets, though. I know you can play barebones WOA offline, but with Bond being a more linear, narrative-heavy action game, this quote at least assuages the fear of needing an always-online connection to play the game.
WoA’s full campaign is technically playable offline.
Not surprised by this though. WoA cross-progression felt like something they’d crafted for 007 First Light, and putting it in WoA was just part of a wide test before the game launches.
According to Arti on stream, the progression might be available offline then sync accross when you get connected again, although I’m not too sure about the exact details on what is meant by this.
