So are we getting a bond early in his career similar to bond in Casino Royale?

Canât say Iâm that interested in a some kind of young Bond, before or at the start of his double 0 career. I mean with the Craig films already doing that, then there was the Young Bond series of books, then there was Carte Blanche, a book with a 32 year old Bond as a sortof self contained reboot, and recently the book Forever and a Day, which is set before Casino Royale as Bondâs first assignment finding the person who killed the previous 007. Not to mention when EoN finally starts making movies again, whether they decide to do a young Bond thing again, it just feels like well trodden ground.
I suppose Iâll give IOI this, I admire the ambition, Not just wanting to make a licence tie-in, but really make it their own thing. But I really hope this isnât too gritty and dry. OK, wishing for a return the antics of the Brosnan era is probably too much, but I think in the video game space Bond can get away with being a bit over the top and funny.
Guess weâll see.

While I know what movie youâre actually referring to, when I hear âCasino Royaleâ the only movie that enters my mind is this one.

They first mentioned the trilogy thing three years ago, so theyâve formed those plans way before the game was even at the stage it is now.
Also a bit ridiculous that weâre approaching four years since it was announced and its still likely years away.

I mean they literally announced it as the ink was still drying.
Iâm certain a proof of concept didnât even exist. Project 007 as of now is just a CGI teaser trailer and strictly he said she said.

I must have missed the Trilogy mention before.
Also, aside from the phrasing, a clean slate Bond is more timeless than choosing an existing one, imo.
There will probably be endless references to the other Bonds anyway.

Wouldâve been easy to miss it. It was only in some random interview article they did at some point - it wasnât anything particularly flashy. iirc the line was something like âwe see potential in it being a trilogyâ and then they moved on.

HUGE news in the world of James BondâŚ
This is a deeply concerning development. There has long been chatter about behind-the-scenes tensions between Amazon and Eon Productions (i.e., Broccoli & Wilson). Barbara Broccoli reportedly baulked at talk of James Bond âcontentâ in one meeting, and is said to have described Amazon execs as âfucking idiotsâ.
Eon will no longer have any creative control. From this point forward, Amazon can do whatever they like. Get ready for the Bond Cinematic Universeâ˘, with accelerated movie release pipelines and a litany of television spin-off series coming to Amazon Prime.
I wonder, too, how this will impact Project 007?

I wouldnât say BCU, but this also means the previous remarks of Bond as a character is off the table which I donât know how to feel. Craigâs run of the character grounded him, but I shouldnât have to list the traits and flaws of the character and what makes Bond well⌠Bond.
We could quite literally see a character with the Bond name but be the complete Anti-thesis of character and that is probably the concerning part with whoever or whomever is in line to take the mantle.
This also isnât me advocating that bond should be a Predominantly White Womanizing Man either.
As for Project 007, Amazon might and I say might cause I donât know. But they might try to do something with their cloud gaming service but beyond that

Well Project 007 is said to be an original Bond story, something Amazon could use now. Whether itâll get picked apart by Amazon more than Eon, who knows.
I do feel bad though. If the game was near the finish line, hopefully they can work things out quick. I feel the longer it takes to release now the more attention this could get from suits without reverence. As sticklers as Eon were, at least it was in a direction.

When I saw the gun barrel, I thought, âWow, what a great opportunity to reveal the character theyâve created⌠maybe one of the film actors or a completely new design?â But no, it just cuts to the placeholder title.
That wasnât a teaser, it didnât tease anything.
