To be clear, they’ve just republished the same gun barrel teaser from (almost) 5 years ago.
So, if it was “teasing” us back in 2020 - and they’ve reused the exact same trailer today - then by definition it cannot be considered a teaser!

Just saw the same 2020 007 tease in the Switch 2 Direct. Christian doesn’t even mention a Year window, not even a “coming next year” or something, not even a 007 Character reveal!! Just “coming to Switch 2… Stay Tuned…!” What the heck is going on with this game??
I think – at the very earliest we might see this 007 game release in 2027, probably Late 2027, given how little we know of the game up until this point. (Nothing, no details on the main character, the gameplay, anything – just reassurances from IOI that they’re good at making Stealth games and are proud of being able to work on the world’s most famous Super Spy…)
- I’m sure the IOI marketing department has dreams each night of how perfect a [007 Title → 2027 window reveal] would be in a teaser trailer.
- Like… that’s probably the earliest it can be done, if, say, by this point IOI finally has the engine, the vision, the structure of the game set up, hopefully it would take about 2 years to have a complete product. (The WOA games all took about 2 years between entries – global pandemic notwithstanding…)

Project 007 is going to come out when it’s mostly ready.
It’s going to be awesome.
It’s going to sell very well.
Its patches will be prioritized as the package will be programmed to pull in prodigious pecuniary profit.

I have a few thoughts.
First off, people complaining about the long wait between the teaser and now gotta know: that teaser was not for us. It was to attract talent to actually make the game and also to have a lot of eyes on IOI right before H3 released.
I’m very certain of this, as I made a post speculating this in 2020 when the trailer dropped and it was pretty much the only post Travis liked in the thread.
They multiplied their team size by a lot and even opened new locations all across Europe. Attracting talent is a big challenge in current AAA gaming.
Second, if you watch IO interviews and financial reports through the past few years, you will learn that they are in fact just working hard on 007 and the fantasy game. The last financial report said plainly that they weren’t expecting huge income in 24-25 bc they weren’t releasing new titles.
Basically, my guess is that things are going to plan.
Third, a lot of development teams have been holding off on making plans for release dates to avoid releasing anywhere near GTA VI.
In fact, now that the world finally has a specific release date for it as of today, I think we can expect a real reveal of Project 007 in the not too distant future.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s ends up being MindsEye. It’s a possibility and I’m keeping my expectations in check. I won’t be disappointed if if they don’t show Project 007, if they do it will be a welcomed surprise.

Non-Hitman IOI games tend to be shit anyways, so i don’t mind 
I love Kane & Lynch as characters but the games…

Freedom Fighters is a gem and I don’t think Kane & Lynch 2 is bad. The gameplay was a great improvement from the first. I can’t speak on Mini Ninjas, never played it.
I believe that the Bond game got great potential.

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to what they’ve been working on. I was worried about the state of this game considering they were continually hiring for new developers years after they announced the game. Let’s hope the work has resulted in something promising!
The title implies that we’re a recruit, and we’ll be working our war up to the status of being in the 00 Agent class.

I think you’re right, like this could be a re-imagining of how Bond achieved 007 status. It was a good idea to make it an original Bond protagonist so they have full creative range and aren’t tethered to the lore too closely. Having said that, that silhouette kinda looks like Pierce Brosnan to me
