007 First Light - Tactical Simulations (escalations and operations) - New Content released July 24th

Department of Dr. Tan, the TacSim is the diegetic live service side of 007 First Light.

Escalation and operations have their own set of challenges, many of them for each in fact.
It’s also the place to use your outfits and skins, and play with upgradable versions of the gadgets.
(do note the nice bark for each outfit)

As of release there are 5 escalations and 2 operations.
Most are unlocked after completion of the story campaign.

Much more is expected to arrive

This topic is to talk of them, and keeping with the new releases on it as time goes on.

Fun fact: you can hear unique dialogues in the tacsim hub for the campaign chapter you completed last.

You can hear a conversation of Harmony full story for example.

Are the two tutorials available from the beginning? Are any of the others?

The two Advanced Training, and the TacSim itself, are available after chapter 6.
All the rest are available after you beat the campaign.

In other news.

Apparently a future car based mission is teased for the future.

Which reassures me, as I was afraid it was going to be all trespassing/hostile gameplay.
And I expressed a few times my expectation of IOI using the car segment level in this mode. It seems it even have my wish of using different places in a row, linking them for our fun.

I think that TacSim itself is unlocked pretty soon after Iceland, it’s just in a very limited capacity

While I enjoyed what I played of the TacSim I cant see it catching on in the same way Hitman’s live model did. Im looking forward to the car mission because it reminds me so much of Nightfire or Everything or Nothing

Two new escalations released.
They also bring the attainable clearance level up.
Making some of the previously higher requirement item easier to unlock without having to do everything, like the missile pen at 15.

New weapons and suit are available.
The suit demands a clearance level of 18, and is now the “done everything” reward.
Until next batch release that is…

The news weapons are each new gameplay archetypes.

The weapons are:

  • Stormberg 50’cal - a pistol useful against armoured enemy
  • DRX-2 Machine Pistol - an automatic weapon equipable in the pistol slot
  • DRS-7 Silenced SMG - the first silenced long arm of the tacsim

New TacSim Escalation:

The Workshop

The lights are low, the workshop is quiet, and seven hostiles stand between you and a clean exit. Stay out of sight and strike decisively in this new three-tier Escalation.

New TacSim Escalation:

Extraction Avenues

The data is secure, but the way out is never simple in this three-tier Escalation. Read the security layout, find the perfect route, and escape before the response closes in.

Will be interesting to see if this update is enough to bring back players to the game, or if they’ve permanently moved on and will never return.

I have not permanently moved on, and I will return, but I’m not rushing back either. I truly did love the game. I had a few fun sessions with it but the post-game content is a little lacking. I do expect that in a year or two it’ll be solid, and new players will have a good amount of content to look forward to.

Also, the long load times don’t help. I want to mess around and experiment in these tacsims, but with a (guessing) 30-second load screen upon every fail, there’s a lot of frustration and waiting around.

I haven’t even gotten into the game yet, but I’m waiting for a sale, or details on the New Game Plus update. Whichever comes first.
Very excited to get into it whenever I do… I’ve heard tons of fun things about it! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
