Absolution is the hardest hitman game

I know guards in silent assassin are more alerted , but there are too many guards in absolution, maps are smaller. Guards are always crowded in small areas.

It’s the disguise system and Instict Mode being time-limited that made Absolution so hard for me. Every level playthrough ended up in me just shooting everybody lol. Since I had played WoA first before Absolution I just couldn’t properly get into it I guess. The base gameplay is so similar yet the mechanics are so distinct that I had a hard time in it… it’s certainly one of the hardest Hitman games in general…

Nah (for me). Most of the levels are designed in such a way that there is always a stealth route you can easily use without getting seen. Get a disguise and use Instinct in places where you absolutely cannot avoid extended eye contact and it’s a piece of cake.
SA (and Contracts to a lesser degree) on the other hand is crazy, still can’t fully wrap my head around how suspicion mechanic works (and it’s different with different disguises and levels as well), and NPCs waking up puts you on a timer…

I played it on PS3. Although I thought the idea of point shooting was cool and great for getting out of dangerous situations, it was difficult to use due to how fidgety it was to aim using the analog sticks. So, I hardly ever did it.

It’s been a long while since I fired it up again, but the last time I did I was taken out of the 60 fps experience that I had grown accustomed to in H2016 (and onward) and going back down to 30 fps… I couldn’t even make myself play it. :disappointed_relieved:

Especially purist mode, it’s too hard.

The gameplay itself wasn’t that difficult; the most gruelling part for me was trying to get through the awful story and care about what was happening.

Personally while I thought the story of Abso was awful and that it didn’t tonally fit with the rest of the franchise, I still found it quite entertaining in a “this is so dumb and batshit crazy that it goes back to being fun” sort of way. Game’s story has this blockbuster grindhouse movie tone to it that just kept me hooked because of how unique it was. I actually powered through the annoying disguise system and level design (mid-level checkpoints? Not My Hitman) because the crazy story kept me playing lol.

NPCs wake up but it’s not really a timer as most places where you need to use the anesthetic are in missions that are designed for you to use it, so when the guard wakes up he will either be isolated or too far away for the “looking for suspicious X” to really effect you. At least that’s the case in Silent Assassin

Be it as it may, it’s still much more taxing than the other Hitman games where you can knock out as many NPCs as you like and they will never wake up on their own.

They are not more alerted. The main idea is to be calm and hold distance and do not rush like an idiot by constantly pressing run button.

In absolution the idiots in charge were way to strict in understanding the word HARD by forcing people to press buttons in milliseconds and constantly observing GUI elements on the screen. Instead of being entertaining this game pissed off customers. This is why it was a disaster.
