Active petition to bring back The Disruptor (change.org)

Hello agents.

I just wanted to draw attention to a petition I have started to urge IO to reinstate / rework The Disruptor pack. The reasoning for this is due to the items and weapons being added to a new weapon wall in December 2024, despite the DLC being pulled from digital storefronts prior in November.

If you would like to learn more or support the petition, you can view and sign it at the link below.

Thank you kindly for your support.

I would imagine IO looked into whether they could get another celebrity to replace McGregor and/or if they could just create a fictional character - but they decided that it wouldn’t be worth the cost to do so because the original pack had been available for many months, that the bulk of the DLC purchases would’ve already occurred and they wouldn’t recoup the costs involved with modifying it.

I do not believe for a second that they just pulled the content, locked it in the vault and never thought about it again.

Rocky (Stallone) or Creed (Jordan) would be great fiction crossovers that could fit. But honestly I’d be up for a generic NPC. We even have martial artist NPCs from the recent Bruce Lee pack that could fit.

Actually, you know who would be the absolute best character replacement? Jason Portman.

Personally my opinion is somewhere close to this statement.
It’s there because of tons unused stuff in the game files which they just need to code in.
Much more simpler than look for agreements and solve legal questions.
But they’re not doing it. Why? Only they know.
So if they were eager, they would have brought back both Busey and Disruptor in some different form. Sarajevo proves that, which was even returned in its original. Maybe one day before they scrap support they will revive those missions. I’m not against, I’m all for it, but in this case I’m pessimistic on the matter

Was before my time. What was the problem with Sarajevo Six?

As from my knowledge it was Sony exclusive for shit amount of years.
It was available exclusively in HITMAN 2016 exclusively on PlayStation

The items and whatnot aren’t really that great in the Disruptor Pack. I mean one of the items, the kettlebell, is just a reskin of an item already in the Freelancer safehouse. The rest are similar. There’s non-Disruptor versions already in the game. Why they didn’t just make this a Fitness Pack or something and only remove the actual arcade contract?

Thing is, this pack brings the Escalation which has challenges without what it’s impossible to reach 100% completion of the game. This is the main issue.
The empty space in Freelancer which couldn’t be filled is a secondary issue not even for completionists, but also for those who want to have everything. Are they called completionists as well? Doesn’t matter. And thing is not in items themselves, thing is in space that couldn’t be filled and in challenges that couldn’t be completed. Thankfully to this weirdo lots of players stuck at 99%

I mean, it doesn’t take a genius to work out the reason. There’s no financial incentive to do so, and the mission is tainted by those who know about it. You don’t remove the problematic history of something by replacing the people. History still happened, and IO, wisely, wants to distance themselves from McGregor. Out of this debacle, it’s one of the few things I agreed with them doing.

TS6 was re-added partially due to fan demand, and it’s probably not a coincidence that Anthony Fuller’s mod that already re-added them, influenced the decision by IO to port them again. The missions were also not controversial for the same reasons, so i’m not sure the situations are even comparable.

I think @Count.Rushmore is referring purely to the ability of renegotiation of terms for content that hasn’t recurred. If the assault controversy with Busey were not a factor, there’s no reason why IOI wouldn’t be able to renegotiate to bring back his ET. I believe that’s what Count was referring to.

I see. That makes sense now.
