Also, has the Mastery level being changed so doing all the challegens takes you to Level 20? Because only have left 2 Assassination challenges left for a total of 8000 points and I’m at level 17 with 1730 points left for the next level.
Use in-game XP to “top it up” to get to Level 20. Hiding bodies, unlocking doors, completing the mission suit only etc. Basically anything that you see when you finish the mission on the score screen increasing your player profile XP count will work.
During the slapping contest he can literally watch you beat down the last guy and he still asks him WHO did that to him. LOL
So on this note, is it possible to have Piombo go meet up with Akka?
Lol, same here.
She definitely shouldn’t know about him. I was hoping for her to mention Kale though.
For the records :
Currently there are 44 challenges, for a total of 106 000 xp
- 17 “assassination” for 48 000 xp
- 16 “discovery” for 26 000 xp
- 9 “feats” for 24 000 xp
- 2 “targets” for 8 000 xp
Ambrose Island possesses 20 mastery level, each of them demands 6 000 xp.
So to achieve a level mastery of 20, starting at level 1, a player needs 114 000 xp
Currently you need to gain 8 000 xp through pure gameplay.
You have four category of xp : infiltration, elimination, mission, and challenge.
Challenge are out, elimination and missions are always here. A good Silent Assassin run will give 500 xp just for that.
The infiltration category will be about silent takedowns, body hiddens, doors unlocked… This is were you can gain a bunch of xp if you wish. A single silent takedown followed by a body hidden is 50 xp. They accumulate even if you reload a save.
The Classics, absent here, are normally 6 challenges that give 20 000 xp. They would be enough to fill that gap.
In your case @UrsamRableckBearmon, you will need an extra 4 730 xp. I guess it will be a bit of a grind unfortunately. Replay the objectives, subdue guards, and hide them, I guess.
Deep down I think this is IOI and the Hitman Live Team pulling one on us.
We keep asking for a snow level. Well they brought us back to the grind of Siberia.
I’ve been messing with this new level for a few hours now. It felt weird at first because I’ve not played Hitman in months. However it all quickly came back and I managed to scrape out some SONKO strats with my limited map knowledge.
My SONKO wiber wire run:
This was an experimental run that actually turned out successful. I utilised the idea of shooting the switch from above the mechanics with a pistol just to eliminate the need for using a sniper or for going to the tower itself. I also decided to destroy the satellite using the vent because not many people have used it from what I’ve seen. I poisoned Crest’s drink as a backup just in case I didn’t get to him in time.
My SONKO accident run:
This was another experimental run where fooling around produced a successful strategy. As you can see at the end, I had no idea what I was doing because it was my first successful attempt lmao.
My intended accident run/bug report:
This appears to be an annoying glitch where NPCs can see through walls effectively ruining your silent assassin rating. I spent so long trying to get around this but to no avail. This was my intended double kill for my accident only run but for obvious reasons it could not be used.
Has IO ever altered a map that had already been released?
I mean, Crest, he is a guard-type target that’s great. But I thought Crest should be more alert and cautious and always command another guard to investigate anything other than going himself. Guard or not, he is the boss after all. It’s weird to see the boss doing everything himself. And it makes Crest too easy to kill, as he will pick up teasers and can be esaily attracted by any noice…
He is the boss, one of the best fixers, but he’s too dull for that… Wish to see him tougher…
Am I crazy or are there no mission stories at all on Ambrose Island?
They’re there in the form of certain things you can trigger, they’re just not guided ones that hold your hand throughout by telling you where to go or what to do. You have to figure them out on your own.
no there is no mission stories
Well that’s bs. There’s an option in setting to disable hand holding for mission stories. I wanted my hand held…
Maybe everyone on the planet will disagree with me… But I feel like Ambrose Island was kind of a dud and redundant. The last map for Hitman 2 was a tropical island that had a pirate costume hidden in a chest… And that’s what we got this time. Except at night. I feel like it would have been better to repurpose Haven Island like they did with Sapienza and Hokkaido for the virus missions. Idk. I’m not blown away. This could have taken place in a shopping mall, an airport, a police station. Anything else would have felt like something new.
Well Grey gives you some hints, you just have to find out what exactly to do. It’s actually not that hard once he said what to do.
You know it, and I know it, but that’s not the reason given in the mission, or at least the beginning. Her assassination became more relevant as the mission went along, but the reason given to go after her to begin with was solely as a cover story.
But I already mentioned, and so did you, all the other reasons they had to make her a target. And I don’t mean the characters, I mean IOI. They decided they wanted a second target in the mission, they had to come up with a reason to make her part of the story to justify why she’s a target and to explain how 47 and Diana kept ICA off their backs for two months, and the one they decided to go with was: “oh, let’s just say the other target we want to add already has a price on her head and use that as the reason,” instead of simply telling ICA that there was more of the militia still out there, and having Akka be targeted because of her direct involvement from the get-go.
Except, as far as we know, 47 and Diana don’t just go looking around for targets; it gets passed along to them from the agency when clients contact them and either ask for a specific agent or offer up a certain price for a contract of specific difficulty, and they assign an appropriate agent in accordance with their capability and expected fee. Sure, I have no problem believing that there are some open bounties put up for anyone who wants them to claim them if they’re not on a specific job, but rather than go through that, they could have just said they were still working on their current assignment for Providence, and oh, by the way, on top of that, the militia is also working with someone with an unassigned contract, so we’ll take care of that while we’re at it, to make double sure that ICA doesn’t think they’ve gone rogue.
Yes, but that didn’t end the contract. The militia would still be a threat if any members were ordered to carry on in his place, particularly Lucas Grey, whom our crew had convinced Edwards was the second in command for Janus who took the heat on his behalf until Janus was killed. He even said to the Partners that Grey would soon join Janus, so the hunt for the rest of the militia hadn’t ended, and indeed, the very scenario I described above ended up happening. When Grey told Crest to lie low, he decided to carry on the work on his own, and so, dead Shadow Client or not, Edwards still wanted Diana to send 47 to kill any active militia members and end the threat to Providence.
Gotta say, this map makes a very good case for the screwdriver being an unlock (something I always wanted and asked for).
You can get one near the vent at Crest’s satellite, but it’d be tough to get in your suit.
i thought there was a screwdriver unlock?
Yes there is. That’s what I’m saying. Many people got annoyed when seeing “screwdriver yours for only 70 featured contracts!” They claimed it was a stupid unlock, that you can find screwdrivers all over the levels. Well, here’s a great example of how it already being in your loadout can be very helpful.
One guard is holding his pistol like he’d be holding a 2 handed gun.
Very minor bug but I just found it funny.
Also feel like I’m in the minority but I like this mission though it isn’t like a top tier favourite for me.
I’m in an even smaller group I think - I want to like it, but I just can’t. I can appreciate it for what it is, but I can’t see it being something I would go to regularly or even really want to play in Contracts mode.
Something about it just feels kinda “meh”, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
