Indian Ocean, most likely near the Andaman Islands, due to accents, Signs etc…
The Target is most likely the narrator in the video, she’s probably leading the last of the Pirates when agent 47 did the Mumbai hit.
From what I can tell on the images @Force_Obscure, the 9th one has a Japanese-East Asian Style Lantern, so I might be wrong on the Indian Ocean Guess.
With the lantern suggestion I assume its set in The Straight of Malacca, considering most of the plants shown are tropical, and appear only native to Sumatra.
But what if this is IO attempting history by making the world’s first fourth dimensional story? You have games with linearity, ones with depth and some are broad but for the first time ever we can know what it is like to lose all meaning of time itself. IO are actually geniuses and will trick you into believing this over the paid DLC thing make you see the true depths of their genius.
Like I said my theory was just a theory I had that I felt the need to share because it was something a little different than going “It is set between Haven and Dubai because that is obviously the only logical answer”, the chances of it being just before Dubai are the best odds even if it lacks pizzazz. It sprung into my mind today as I was looking through the roadmap thread, it isn’t a working theory I have had.
Yea thats true too. This is a map that uses a lot of assets already made and they probably also calculated how much people would be bothered if they had to pay for something that could be perceived as unoriginal. I remember Ranton said he didnt like Dartmoor because it reused all its assets from Paris, I have no idea what he’s talking about but if he’s the example of a layman I can see why theyd not want to risk backlash from those people because goodwill translates to money made thru the confusing DLC schemes they already have. I might be more willing to part with money for Freelancer because this is free, thats how ingenious marketing is. Its the only form of emotional and mental abuse you can do that has no societal consequence
Honestly I don’t really notice much of the asset reuse in Hitman 3. A few props here and there, but each location still feels very distinct.
Had no idea Dartmoor used so much Paris stuff (is that true?)
No, I think he mistook a vaguely similar aesthetic for a reuse of assets. I was just using him as an example of a stupid reddit-tier complain-o-holic that will start up a PR shitstorm and rise up if he notices anything he doesnt like that unfortunately game companies have to keep in mind of
Every company reuses assets from time to time. Even as someone with no skills at making games I feel like it is a bitch to make everything in a level from the ground up so of course they are going to reuse assets.
Its certainly going to be a simpler map than lets say Berlin and Mendoza however I think it will be more than five mastery because theres too many NPCs and too many things in the map to think itll be Hawkes Bay level. Im thinking a New York level experience
I would say synonimising big with good is something we’ve gotten used to with the modern formula but keep in mind one of the best Hitman levels of all time is a house with like five NPCs in it
New York is awesome so I wouldn’t mind a map of that calibre if it’s smaller. Then again, IO did tell us before H3’s release that we were getting six level 20 mastery maps. Maybe this is making good on it.
