Come on, everybody knows that old saying about a Hitman never takes two island jobs back to back. It’s bad luck in the industry!
There’s just something about it. It was basically the only game I played from January to November 2021 (even when I was having trouble with some of the older maps); I wanted to play other games but couldn’t bring myself to. Eventually, though, you run out of things to do (and maybe you dust off another game or two).
It’s one of the few games I’ve been driven to 100% so, after my own extended hiatus, my playtime has been increasing lately as Year 2 finally really seems to get going.
Hitman for me is something I continually return to and keep an eye on similarly to Minecraft. It may take weeks between play sessions but I return for an ET and give a few contracts a go.
Same. I guess it’s because Hitman has the advantage that you can play it for a short time, or even for a few hours. You can sort of choose it.
That’s why I play it more often, it’s the only game I have installed all the time.
Wait until you find out about missions in the USA
“Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.”
That doesn’t help either.
And bad for people like me with geographic OCD!! Two islands next to each other in the Destinations tab WILL trigger me. Much like Dubai being right next to Dartmoor already has…
I’m hoping Ambrose Island is placed to the right of Carpathian Mountains, considering it’s technically a H3 DLC.
Wait’ll you see how the Escalation and Featured Contracts challenges are organized…
Do you think we’ll see Trophies/Achievements for this map along with Elusive Targets?
- Yes, I think both will be possible
- No, neither of these are happening
- Yes, But only ET
- Yes, But only Trophies/Achievements

So I have been out of the loop for quite some time. Last time I read about new map was months ago. Is this map even real lol and when it will be released?
It is real and it’s being released on the 26 of July free for any owners of hitman 3
Stupid question, but what about people who don’t own Hitman 3? Like people who just have Hitman 2016 or Hitman 2? Can they buy the location or is it only available when you have Hitman 3?
As I know, you must own H3 for access this location.
I guess it will just be locked behind the Standard/Deluxe Edition paywall like every other H3 location since those are what make you a H3 owner, not the Starter Pack/Demo.
I bet Ambrose will be stuck between H2 locations under the Campaign menu. But it’s just unlikely for IOI to update the actual 2018 game to add this location, right?
In the same vein :
- Yes, at Freelancer release
- Yes, with some delay
- No

I say “Yes, with some delay” only because I don’t expect them to dump all the contracts into Freelancer in one go. I’m expecting they’ll get rolled out over time on the roadmaps as Live Content like everything else they’ve ever done - so all locations may not be present and accounted for on Day 1 if that will be how we get the contracts.
Whatever happens, I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t be available to players with the Hitman 3 Free Starter Pack.
Hitman 2, hitman 2016, I doubt it. There has been a bunch of design changes (animation speed, camera, and that’s just the front end). And QA obligations, and the game release philosophy.
As for the free starter pack, it’s especially if it’s a prequel mission / a better introduction to the main game and the story than the “The Story so far” cinematic. (which to be honest does not do a great job at being the first content seen by the player)
(Also, this is the reason I could see the mission tab being before Dubai)
This whole post can be dismissed. As @kidneptune1987 pointed out, IOI said on twitter that Ambrose Island will not be available to FSP players.
Agreed. This always seemed a bit strange to me. It was as if they assumed the majority of people had already played H1 + H2 and only a small % would be brand new to the games. I have no idea what the numbers actually were, but I find it odd they didn’t gear that more towards the new players. Maybe they just knew the first level was fun enough that people would over look it and by the 3rd level they would be going to buy the first two games?
