Ambrose Island - Pre-release Discussion

I’m sure, although, and not to get all “well, he started it!” here, but I wouldn’t have resorted to such talk if I hadn’t been provoked, and I’m currently not in the best of moods as is, so my civil conversation tone is in the backseat at the moment.

Don’t forget, Ambrose fills in, and I quote, “a few gaps from the World of Assassination storyline”, so it’s more than just one (and you’re just describing one). Also, they don’t need to explicitly show you everything that goes on. You can infer that after finding out the names of the partners, that they’ll start tracking and tracing them and thus ending up to where they were all hiding in Dubai. You don’t need that spelled out in size 72 comic sans.

EDIT: They also literally went to New York and Haven to get more information on the Partners, they’ve filled in that gap now with two bonus missions, why add one more?

Me laughing in my cold ivory tower when Ambrose is the true prequel to Codename 47

Because all they did in New York is find out who they paid money to to change their identities, and in Haven all they found out is who the Partners’ new identities were. Nothing in those missions included anything about where they were at the time. Filling in the gap of how they found where the Partners were and how much time passed before they went after them is the only real “gap” that could even be relevant enough to explore in a new mission. The alternatives - how they tracked Grey down to the Institute, or what they did while they cooled their heels for two months waiting on the Ark Society, would be even more hand-holdy about how the story went than folks are suggesting finding where the Partners are on Ambrose.

The fact is, Haven ended H2 with a bunch of questions that were not adequately answered by how we’re just thrust into a skydive and a montage of the guys sneaking into the UAE at the beginning of the next game. It’s not the only place where “gaps” in the story would need to be filled, but it’s the one where the most relevant gaps to how the third game began can be addressed, is all I’m saying. For those reasons, I’m hoping IOI is sensible and places the mission in that period for minimal confusion. If they didn’t, ok, fine, confusion be damned.

I am busy downloading the update RIGHT NOW, its 25 gig on PS4. Is this an earlier update that I am only getting now? It says v1.10?

I never get excited during the wait for new DLC until close to the release date. It is now close, and I’m proper jonesing.

Does anyone think the targets from Ambrose will be retroactively added to the group of WoA targets surrounding 47 in his nightmare in Untouchable? I understand the ones not directly tied to the Shadow Client/Providence/ICA war not being there, like Abiatti, Nabazov, the Yardbirds, etc., but since these two are expected to contribute to the story, should IOI go to the trouble of adding them to that circle? Don’t think I’d really care much if they didn’t, but I’d appreciate the acknowledgement of continuity if they did.

Likely not, just extra dev and testing time which would take away focus from Ambrose.

Those little add-ons are cool but can’t see it happening.

Seeing as it would just be placing stationary character models in that one spot, if they don’t add them I’d humbly ask they do so next patch.

Little things matter, like Grey in the Ark Society opening.
