While I figured Berlin would be the location for The Drop, I am with you. An Ambrose Island Elusive Target is up on my list of requests for the game.
I’m hoping that IF IOI decide to do more new Elusive Targets, I’m hoping we get at least one ET per map that doesn’t have one in the game currently (Miami as The Undying probably won’t ever come back, Mumbai, New York, Haven Island, and Ambrose Island). I think this would help expand variety for Elusive Target Arcade. I’ll even settle for just an Ambrose Island one for no other reason that it’s the most recent new map.
I agree with Heisenberg that more may be on the way. IOI have surprised us plenty over the course of the lifespan of Hitman 3, and I’m sure they’ll continue to surprise us up until the end.
If they do decide to invest money into making new ETs, then it could make The Undying coming back more likely (at least with a new face and re-recorded dialogue).
Wouldn’t be that expensive while they have people recording new dialogue for the other ones to grab someone and just go “Hey, while you’re here lets record these too”. They’ll have to pay the VA a little more for the extra time, but it would be certainly less than getting someone to come in specifically to re-record Mark Faba’s lines…
Honestly it would still be pretty fun to have the Undying show up in Hokkaido with Portman’s face and just a couple of Darth Vader muffled groans, all the while requiring no additional recordings from Sean Bean (unless his contract specifically requested any instance of Mark Faba showing up in the game to have his face and voice).
Now that I think about it, with World of Assassination now being a single, cohesive game of all locations since 2016, it would actually be easier, I think, to create new ETs for older maps that didn’t get many, or any at all, like Mumbai. After all, they wouldn’t be making an ET for H2, they’d be making it for WoA, which opens up that possibility.
Alright @thrison, you got some explanation of why that’s not technically feasible or even a factor, I pass the mic to you.
You seem to have failed at basic reading comprehension because I’ve already commented on this topic of conversation - and my post implies that I think it could be a possibility. So your assumption based on absolutely nothing that I would be against it is completely incorrect and your attempt to shit-stir has failed.
You’ve actually taken that too far. I know what you already said, but on the off-chance that the fact that it’s all one game now was not a technical factor, which you seem to have more knowledge about that myself, I was giving you the chance to say how my assumption is flawed, and I was opening myself up to that. My passing you the mic was actually the passing of an olive branch, but you seemed to have interpreted it as a stick of dynamite. Take it easy.
One thing I would like to note is that they clearly got David Bateson to record a few new lines, at least for the ET trailer.
Could it mean we’ll hear more dialogue from 47 during the ET or perhaps in some other incoming brand new content? Or did they record the lines only for the trailer?
The latter would suck, as pretty much all post-release content for Hitman 3 reused 47’s older lines, even something as big as Ambrose Island.
A good point. I’m gonna guess that with Ambrose, David Bateson was probably doing other work, and scheduling conflicts probably kept him from recording new lines for that mission; if I’m not mistaken, that would have been around the time he was recording his lines for Bowser in the Danish dub of the Mario Brothers movie, after all. So he’s probably freed up again for the time they needed him for The Drop, assuming there was any need to even have 47 say anything new. We know they got Jane Perry to do Diana’s intro for the target again, because of course they did.
Usually, when a new batch of targets comes out, I typically start them by killing the first target with the fiber wire, no matter the game. And I’m considering this new ET as part of a new batch, even if it ultimately, disappointingly, turns out to be a batch of one. But, I don’t think I’m going to use fiber wire on this one. I want to be a bit more creative when going in blind for a change, and considering that it’s pretty certain that it’s going to be taking place in Berlin, the most potential accident-strewn map in the trilogy, it seems only appropriate to arrange an accident. And since what I’ve learned of the real Dimitri Vegas indicates he’s a pretty cool dude, Imma do him a solid and not straight murder his digital incarnation. So, depending on how circumstances set up in the mission allow, I think I’m either going to Drop something on him, like a cement bag or something, or push him over some edge or railing and let him Drop to his death. It’s only fitting.
Going from the (public) information about the Mario movie’s development, Ambrose and the Mario movie would’ve been recording at roughly the same time, so Bateson would’ve been unavailable (as he is Bowser in the Danish version).
(This is just pure speculation, Olivia is also surprisingly quiet in that briefing)
It’s reasonable speculation though. Was Olivia needed to say anything? And who’s to say her VA, who was a replacement anyway at that point of development, didn’t have schedule conflicts as well?
Oh I’m not saying that she didn’t have schedule conflicts, quite the opposite actually. I was inferring that Bateson had schedule conflicts, so 47 didn’t say anything, the same is probably true for Olivia.
No, she wasn’t required, but she normally interjects with a comment. They specifically showed her to be there though, so it just seems weird.
Yeah, I hope Bateson returns. I remember reading he likes voicing 47 so much he’ll do it even after he retires.
I’m curious about Olivia’s new VA. Does anyone know why was old VA replaced? I liked both takes on her voice, it’s just weird a bit.
Where do you think The Drop will be in Berlin? The blog post just says he’s a “DJ-turned-drug impresario”, which gives two likely places for him to be.
The DJ Booth and nearby rooms
The drug growing/packaging rooms in the biker hangout
Somewhere else

I do think it would be funny if they put him in a more “out-there” spot like the rooftops or the gas station.
I also wonder if he’ll interact with Rolf Hirschmüller at all. Surely a high-profile DJ like Dimitri Vegas (or a fictionalized version of himself) would be worthy of meeting the club owner/biker leader.
I had to vote “somewhere else” because I don’t think he’ll be in one spot. I think he’ll make his way between the booth and the drug lab in the hangout, probably with a couple guards. If he just stood in one spot or even went back and forth between the booth and just those two nearby areas it would be a waste.
Most of the recent targets have had much more involved routes so I see no reason why this guy would be different.
