What does that mean “across every continuity”?
The comics. The movies. The tv shows. The cartoons. The games. The theme park rides. The rebooted comics. The rebooted movies. The rebooted tv shows. The rebooted cartoons. The games on the next generation of consoles. The theme park rides in other theme parks. The new rebooted comics. The new rebooted movies. The new rebooted tv shows. The new rebooted cartoons. The games on yet the next generation of consoles. The theme park rides in yet new theme parks.
Shall I go on?
So you’re treating every different iteration of the character as a separate “continuity”? And the only villain that shows up consistently across all of them is the Joker? I guess that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
I still don’t like the character, mind you, but I know where you’re coming from at least.
Woody Allen.

Well, yes, that’s what that means. Any iteration of the character that differs from another without being part of story progression, is its own separate continuity, with its own set of rules and its own documented history of what events happened and who was involved. Example: the Michael Keaton/Val Kilmer/George Clooney Batman were all the “same” Batman, set in the same world and following the same rules and history. The Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Patterson versions of the character are all separate versions of the character from each other and from the one portrayed by those first three men. To say nothing of the comics, games, and cartoons, which all also have their own separate continuities and are not tied to each other at all, although they may share similarities by basing each others stories off one another.
Yeah, I get that things like the Michael Keaton Batman is a different iteration of the character than the Ben Affleck version. I think I always though that the comic book Batman was just “the comic book Batman” with the same continuity going back to whenever the character was first introduced.
I suppose I compare it to a character like 47. Agent 47 in Codename 47 is the same character, with the same backstory as the character of the same name in World of Assassination. They are the same person, so to speak, and not in different continuities (because they are in different games). I had (wrongly, apparently) assumed that comic book characters were similar. Same character, just retold or told from a different perspective.
As I’ve said repeatedly though, I know very little about comic books or the characters within them. It’s a style of story-telling that I personally don’t like.
Been seeing ads for this, my dad showed me an ad for it too.
I’ve only seen the Animaniacs reboot (which I quite enjoyed) and never saw the original series (so there’s no scenes I’ll recognize or classic characters they never brought back for Hulu.)
But should I go see this?
Tickets are about 75-150$. I haven’t seen many of these “X Live in Concert” things since they’re usually pricey but they’ve always been enticing!
(Side-note the Into the Spider-Verse concert series happened late last year and they never brought it to Canada. It’s over since they just announced the ATSV concert series, fingers crossed that one does. I’d kill to see the SpiderVerse score played live.
I mean it wouldn’t hurt, a lot of the biggest skits from the original show are the musical bits like the Yakko’s World or the Presidents song plus Pink and The Brain are the best side characters from the show, not for nothing did they get their own show.
Question to our resident US members with a Steam account (or just anyone with a US-based Steam account). Would someone be willing to potentially waste 2.60 bucks on me? ![]()
I’d like to try and add the US version of Arma 2 to my account, see if it’s possible. I have the international one (which lacks a store page) and as such can’t purchase this one.
If anyone would be willing to help out and try gifting it to me, kindly let me know via PM. The game is on sale right now for the Spring Sale for about 14 more hours, but goes on sale pretty often, so there will be opportunities later. Naturally, I´d return the favour by gifting you a game of your choosing within the same price range ![]()
Is app id 33900 the US version? I’m in Australia but that’s the only version I can see on Steam.
Yes, 33900 is the US/NA one (the ROW one is 33910). The thing is, it’s the only version visible on Steam no matter where you are (apparently has been for ages), but I think the store adds you whichever version depending on your region (as was my case). And I believe for Australia that is the ROW one (though the only way to check is to buy it for yourself
), which is why it would probably be more certain to do it from the US (and even then I’m not sure if the purchase and/or gifting would still be for the 33900 one - maybe the store page is for 33900 but that one in fact is not sold anymore and you get a 33910 regardless of where you are, because BIS couldn’t be bothered to fix and unify the store app IDs?).
Decided to risk it since it was so cheap and yep buying it gives me 33910. Is there any difference in the US version which makes it better to have?
Not really, not that I know of. The only difference I am aware of is that the ROW version has more language options, whereas the US one only has English. I have yet to try whether the 33910 allows accessing Arma 2 content in Take On Helicopters, but I would assume it does (would be weird if it didn’t).
I just hate how Steam keeps showing me A2 as not being purchased when I view it outside of the store page, and also how there is no game art in its library entry, so I want to see if I can do something about it
(that would be the only other difference/advantage, lol)
Anyways, if you plan on keeping and playing it, you should get the whole pack (Operation Arrowhead, BAF, PMC, and ACR) later if you enjoy it.
Okay so… IO Interactive has like 5 different studios now, right? Copenhagen, Malmö, Barcelona, Istanbul and Brighton.
Theres the 007 game, project fantasy and one of them is obviously still working on the WoA…
What are the other 2 Studios working on?
I hope its a certain HD Remaster and not just money laundering
They are probably working on the upcoming projects as well? That is usually what happens with large gaming companies, there will most likely be one company developing that fantasy LSG or whatever it is and there will be two other teams making the future content or side content.
Ah it all makes sense, IO is actually just a front for the Danish Mafia. Here I was thinking those new offices were just for places where people work on video games.
Think about it we buy HITMAN, they make HITMAN live service so we get addicted and keep paying for it, then they use that money to cover for their real business. Second hand helicopter sales and baby organ trafficking.
Of course the interest in HITMAN is drying up so they need to do something drastic. Hakan whips out his trump card the fabled C47 Remaster. Knowing only a handful of people actually want it and that there is one person who will actually care about it. Hakan will delete the original versions of the game, brick the digital copies and announce that he will Disco Demolition all remaining physical copies of the physical only remaster unless they are bought out.
He knows Ochoa will buy them all and he banks on it. Before you know it MrOchoa has unwittingly facilitated Denver Airport levels of baby organ harvesting and it is all because he got greedy for a hypothetical video game.
Of this is all hypothetical, the real reason for all of these new offices might be simply because IO has expanded and diversified its workforce so much while having so many big, new project they need the new offices. But that isn’t as schizopost-y an answer now is it?
Maybe the other offices are where they monitor players who play the game so superbly that they then “recruit” and train them for actual assassination missions.
Meanwhile, Amazon is using their vast funds to secretly experiment on people and animals with mutagenic viruses in order to turn them into biological offensive weapons - or “B.O.W.s - and advance the evolution of humankind through genetic manipulation.
Oh, no, wait… that was a different company.
That’s not the mafia, that’s the Olsen Banden (Olsen gang). Professional thieves. Classic danish 70-90’s movie series.
Very popular in parts of Germany. @MrOchoa have you grown up with the series?
