Ask HMF anything

You might know this already, but if not (and anyone else)… Paris has a mechanic like that. There was even a Featured Contract where you were required to use the Striker (I believe) for various targets around the map and the safest way to do it was to have the fireworks going off.

May I ask why did we had a HMF Awards both last year and this year? The last HMF Awards was back in 2022

HMF Awards were always a community effort not initiated by the staff. The simple answer is the community did not do that the last years.

That’s disappointing, we still got time this year so if anyone is interested to take the opportunity to host this year it would be awesome!

Hi is this updated for The Disruptor?

Unfortunately not. It’s not even updated for the Drop.

Woooow. Awesome job, Travis! Getting to work with Denmark’s biggest export!
That’s really neat and I hope he’s enjoying his new non-video game related job?!

I got some mystery RPG games with another order, but none of them interest me. So I’m willing to give the keys to someone for free, since they cost me nothing. (first come first served) They have to be activated through Steam, I’m assuming the US version of Steam. Does anyone want them? Send me a PM.

List: (Will be struckout as claimed)

Where does every non-America on here live? I know a few of you, but I’m seriously, like dead seriously considering leaving the US, and I want an idea of where the best places to go might be. I’m avoiding any European location for now, as we don’t know what’s gonna be happening with Russia now that, well, you know. But anyone else, where you all from, what can you recommend, pros and cons, please and thank you.

You’re mistaken if you think Trump winning is giving Putin green light to invade NATO. That’s downright fearmongering.

I’m not saying it is, I’m saying things are uncertain. Europe has been having its own issues over the last 15 years or so with growing extremism and add that to what may or may not happen now with Trump clearly wanting to make NATO our enemies instead of Russia, if just prefer to stay away from that part of the world for the time being.

I wish to point out that Trump rhetoric on NATO during his first term wasn’t new. And I doubt even his.
They certainly came from a sincere briefing, and he ran with them.

It’s a bit forgotten that his rethoric had two main arguments: the 2% of GDQ expenditure guideline that wasn’t met by multiple nations, and Europe and Germany in particular over reliance on Russian gas that threatened their independence of action.
He was wildly mocked for it when he said the last one during a conference in Europe.
I don’t think I have to point out that it was right.

Was Trump saying this in the name of NATO objectives and what it stands for? No.
Does it mean he could jettison NATO for a “better deal” in his narrow view? Yes.
Does it mean that US institutions could still maintain their prescribed goals and NATO? That remains to be seen, but they will work for it.

Is it going to be turbulent? Yes. There is a reason why Macron and Scholz called each other and coordinated earlier today.
But do not confounds the news with politics when institutions are in play.

So, are you saying that Europe is not necessarily a sketchy option to consider despite the current circumstances? I’m fine with that, I could live there, I’m just wanting to go the least volatile place I can.

Antarctica it is then!

Come here to the UK. You won’t have to learn a new language, and unlike quite a few of our European brethren, we didn’t elect a far-right shitstain or come close to doing so.

I don’t know.

The European Union will have to define herself.
I personally say “gain a soul”.

Germany government coalition just scuttled themselves, and will have an election in January.
France just did the same. And there are reasons to believe it might be done again later next year.

Both of them see themselves as the leaders of Europe. Which is less and less true.
Germany power is usually economical. They never fully recovered after covid, and are a decade late on necessary reforms and investments.
France power is usually political. Internationality they had a lot of setbacks and internally their debt heavily restrict their flexibility and array of actions.

Finally the spirit of the European Union shifted outside of them.
It is yearned. From the southern countries that remember the economic crisis of 2008 to eastern Europe that really wants actions toward Russia. And pretty much everyone is tired of France and Germany arrogance.
But it has not been acted on. This will certainly become a crisis. And tensions are rising, if fortunately still under the European forum. And so seems to heading toward a resolution that will be shaped and integrated into the European institution.

But it is fragile.
The far-right is on the rise. Immensly.
If the crisis is resoved under them. It will be resolved under their rules and their structure of approach.
It would make Europe stumble.

I’m really thinking Mexico or Japan might be best, if not for all the disasters Japan keeps getting.

He could come down here. We all speak (proper) English, our right wing are so useless, indolent and incompetent they lose federal power quickly, the coffee is better, the beer is better and it is so hot in the summer that your body won’t need to adjust to leaving New Mexico or wherever.

I mean you like philosophy right? Why not live in Coober Pedy! Living in a cave house will really make you feel like Plato, it is so hot you will never feel homesick for the South-West, there is nothing more private than a cave and it is like a natural fortress plus you could take up opal hunting or fossicking!

I know the Forum Awards are usually a Sept.-to-Oct. sort of “event”, and yeah I do miss just celebrating forum moments and members the past 2 years.

I’ve been thinking of taking charge and organizing something for December. I just need to make a plan for all that.
I do agree we should do it again.
