Can you 100% the game as a new player?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been thinking of getting Hitman WoA. I used to play the older Hitman games as a child and figured I might want to try again. I’ve been doing research on how to buy the game, since all the different DLC’s can be confusing. During my research I found out that certain DLC’s/content is not available anymore.

So my question is, if I would start playing Hitman WoA today as a brand new player who has never touched the game, would I be able to complete everything and basically have 100% show up everywhere in my stats?

Thanks!

At the moment it is impossible to 100% Isle of Sgàil and that isn’t a figure of speech. One of the challenges is attached to a DLC that was delisted with prejudice. All other missions as far as I know can still be achieved 100%.

Plain and simply, you can’t. From memory there’s quite a lot of stuff newer players can’t get anymore.

  • New players can’t access the previously available time-limited Elusive Targets in their Standard format.

There are 4 entire years of ETs, each one with two unique challenges. So that’s like, over 100+ challenges new players can’t complete. Steam players, in particular, still don’t have access to the Year 1 ETs IIRC, as on PC those were available only during the Epic Games release of the game.

This type of content will forever count as “Missed” in a new player’s account, along with the challenges associated with them, unless IO feels like making them all available to play again. Luckily those challenges don’t count towards the progression screen of the main levels so it wn’t affect them.

  • New players can’t access The Disruptor ET DLC pack, nor its associated items and challenges.

After The Disruptor DLC was delisted from sale last November due to the Connor McGregor trial controversy, players who didn’t buy that DLC in time can no longer unlock its rewards or complete its challenges.

Unfortunately, those challenges remain in the game as-is and they DO count towards the progression screen of the Isle of Sgail level, for whatever insane reason. So that level will have its stats screen porcentage rate permanently incomplete (being stuck at 96% or so) for new players and old players who didn’t buy the DLC in time alike, until IO decides to do something about it.

  • While they don’t count towards the in-game progression system, there are quite a few items that are, unfortunately, not available to new players anymore.

Some of these items could be unlocked by linking your progress to the previous two games in the trilogy, but as those games were delisted you can’t obtain said items anymore. These include:

The Black Winter Suit and ICA Performance Coin. Two exclusive items you could obtain from completing a Standard Elusive Target in the HITMAN 2016 target.

the Season One Travel Briefcase. Which you could obtain from linking HITMAN 2016 and HITMAN 2 to each other on IO’s website.

The Twitch Drop items, including the Purple Suit, Purple Baller Pistol, Purple Baseball Bat, and Purple Explosive Duckie. We don’t know when IO will do Twitch Drops again so it’s unknown if they’ll ever come back.

The Purple Splitter Coat. An exclusive item unlocked by paying for a 5$ Twitch Drop and then linking your Twitch account to the game. Greediest case of a FOMO item if you ask me.

Certain time-limited Elusive Target rewards. Such as The Undying’s Ephemereal Suit, The Drop’s Greek Fire Suit, The Disruptor’s MMA Suit, and The Splitter’s Suit, all of which were time-gated challenge rewards for their respective Standard Elusive Target missions.

All-in-all, the game has quite a lot of content to keep one busy, to the point where one might not be bothered by the small pieces of content that can no longer be obtained. But it’s good to remain informed and get cautioned on what you’ll be missing as a new player, nonetheless.

People can still get these. All you need to do is temporarily link your platform account to an existing IO account with these items registered against it - and they’re yours forever. Even once you delink the platform account as seemingly no message is sent to the progression servers to remove these items.

Don’t worry about 100% the game, definitely pick it up and have a blast with it. I absolutely love it and it’s one of the best games to ever play! :slightly_smiling_face:
