Still no fix for Switch. Given that the Switch 1 version has been ignored and unfixed for a long time, I have a feeling that they’re in no rush to get it sorted.
It’s frustrating as hell and has soured me with IOI. Not played any Hitman game in ages, and my hype for Bond has shot down just because of their mismanagement.
Hate to be a downer, but it’s really annoying.
timeline for Switch Cross Progression fix? 
We are looking to ship a fix for the Nintendo cross-progression with a patch tied to the ET later this month.
Loving this feature, now my only big wishlist item would be to fix the inability to get 100% challenges on the maps where you missed the DLC (some of which will almost certainly never be available again).
I wonder if some of those ET DLCs (besides disruptor) could return again later. I don’t remember Sean Bean/Undying always being available initially at least.
Does cross progression also take into account leaderboards?
Can I just double-check the following:
I’m already 99.9% sure all of the above is correct. But I just wanted to ask here on the off-chance someone has experienced anything bizarre. Ideally, getting Hitman 2016 items on one platform transferred into WOA on another platform… (I realise the answer is almost certainly ‘no’).
Aside from that pipe dream, I believe the only way to retain these elusive (tehe) items for my PC edition of WOA would have required the following (now defunct) steps:
Also (because it might make me feel ever so slightly better), even if I had done all of the above, would this require setting my hypothetical PlayStation edition of WOA as my primary account? So, to use the items on PC, I’d need to replace all my progress made on PC with whatever progress I had made on my hypothetical PlayStation copy of WOA?

These Elusive Items are unobtainable.
No way for you to have them, especially if they are from H2016 data only.
To make you feel slightly better, it would indeed have meant making the PlayStation progression the primary, so without your PC progress and items.
What you proposed to do has two roadbloacks: you cannot purchase H2 anymore (delisted as H3 rebranded to WoA), and the “H2 to H3 carryover” is no more (it was discontinued as the cross-progression launched).
It would have been possible if you did the first before Jan. 2023, and the second before Feb. 3rd. this year.
The rest is correct. You need to possess the game license, and WoA profile data, on each selected platform.
Recently, I was also interested in cross-progression, so I tested it with my own data and did a quick investigation.
Cross-progression is simply a feature that allows you to play with your activated progress data on other platforms.
That’s all it does.
Items not obtained on the “active account” cannot be used even after cross-progression.
Items obtained on the “platform account you’re playing on” cannot be used on the “active account.”
Even if you obtained an item on the “active account,” you don’t gain ownership of it on the “platform account you’re playing on.”
You can only use items owned on the “active account.”
Resetting cross-progression restored the original platform’s progress state and item ownership status.
In other words, both the “activated account” and the “original account on the platform you’re playing on” kept their item ownership status unchanged through cross-progression; nothing changed before or after it.
Since it came up, as a bonus, I’ll note down some information I gathered while researching various items that were once unobtainable.
Below is a summary of items that are currently unavailable for some reason.
Items from Twitch Drops are omitted as they may become obtainable again in the future.
The following five items are all “HITMAN 2 Legacy Rewards.”
Obtaining these required using the same IOI account on the same platform.
However, since only one of the three coin types was originally obtainable, only three types were actually available.
The method to obtain these HITMAN 2 items in HITMAN World of Assassination was through progression carryover from HITMAN 2 to HITMAN World of Assassination.
However, progression carryover ended on February 3, 2026.
Therefore, there is currently no way to obtain them.
“ICA Commendable Performance Coin”
Playing the first year’s Elusive Targets in HITMAN (2016) made this obtainable in HITMAN 2.
If you earned the right to obtain the “ICA Superior Performance Coin” or “ICA Outstanding Performance Coin,” you could not obtain this one.
“ICA Superior Performance Coin”
This was obtainable in HITMAN 2 if you completed the first year’s Elusive Targets in HITMAN (2016).
You cannot obtain this if you earned the right to get the “ICA Outstanding Performance Coin”.
“ICA Outstanding Performance Coin”
This was obtainable in HITMAN 2 if you completed Elusive Targets in HITMAN (2016) with the Silent Assassin title.
“Black Winter Suit”
Obtainable in HITMAN 2 upon completing an Elusive Target in HITMAN (2016).
“Aluminium Travel Briefcase”
Obtainable in HITMAN 2 if you owned HITMAN (2016).
The following 6 items are pre-order bonuses for the Switch2 version, “HITMAN World of Assassination Signature Edition”.
They cannot be obtained on platforms other than Switch2.

There’s a few things on this list that I hope change as this year unfolds.
Namely the platform suits and the Switch 2 items. Cross-progression has seemingly re-awakened desires to have these items elsewhere and has triggered numerous conversations about it recently, so hopefully IO does the do at some point. 
All being well. I’m still waiting on the Switch cross progression. And a response to a couple of other issues too 
I have WOA w/ all DLC on Epic. I primarily play Freelancer, and having all DLC is a pain due to the DLC items sold at suppliers which are not needed to prestige. Is my understanding correct that I can enable cross-progression and buy WOA + H2 expansion on Steam to have full access to play Freelancer mode but without having to worry anymore about DLC items showing up at suppliers?
I did a quick check, and on platforms where the DLC hasn’t been purchased, the corresponding DLC shelf in Freelancer Mode was empty and locked.
I couldn’t verify with the supplier since their lineup is random, but I suspect it won’t be sold through them either.
That’s awesome. Thanks both for confirming. Not having the weapons on the wall is fine. It will be very nice to play on steam and get away from epic and no longer need to deal with the DLC weapons when prestiging
@IOI_Artjoms I’ve found two small pieces of progression/unlocks that are lost by enabling/disabling cross-progression.
Both of these are lost both when enabling and disabling cross-progression.
I uncovered this on PS5, where I briefly had Steam set to the Primary Account and I connected to the servers on PS5 once. After disabling cross-progression so the PS profile was used on PS5 again, I no longer had these exits available like I had previously. After re-unlocking them on PS5, I then set the PS5 to Primary and launched the game on Steam where these exits were also previously available and launched the game with the cross-progression still enabled. These exits were also unavailable to me.
I don’t think this stuff is stored server-side at all, but rather in the local save data. I noticed long ago that when I deleted the local save data from the PS5 and then launched the game - the exits would be lost as well until the steps were recompleted. I guess it gets overwritten at some stage with the cross-progression?
I’m trying to decide whether I buy upcoming DLC packages on steam or epic. Am I understanding correctly that I can get all DLCs on steam but then disable them and that will make it so the DLC weapons no longer appear in Freelancer?
Ah, that’s cool. I was always disappointed that disabling does not work on epic. Thanks for confirming. It’s nice to have this option and then be able to get DLC on steam going forward while still being able to keep the weapons out of freelancer mode.
Funnily enough if you want the most DLC Complete Hitman experience. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is the one that has the most DLC packs with the exception of The Disruptor.
