I’m constantly baffled when consumers lick the boot and advocate AGAINST their own interests, regardless of the underlying grim reality of how things usually work out. I actually genuinely don’t understand it.

Addiction and FOMO. Simple as that. You get consumers addicted to the product, whether that be physically or psychologically, and make it seem like they have to get the extra thing even when they don’t like the predatory nature of the arrangement from the provider, because they feel like they won’t be satisfied if they don’t. When it comes to entertainment in general, and gaming in particular, I’m in that myself, although even I have limits. I’ve resisted the temptation of buying a PlayStation console since the 3 generation despite all I’ve missed out on from Sony’s side in that time… and by ā€œresisted the temptationā€ I mean I’ve avoided pissing off my wife by buying another console while I already have a perfectly good Xbox just so I can play the same games on it with some slightly different stuff.

Personally, I’d prefer it if there were no platform-specific elements if possible, and I agree that distributing all platform suits to everyone would be the best solution.
However, since these suits were originally conceived as purchase bonuses, I also feel it might be selfish to demand that much.

Currently, the platform suits exist as items whose selling point is that they can only be worn on their respective platforms.
Game development isn’t charity, and I understand the business perspective of including such elements to sell games.
Furthermore, IOI has never forced players to buy other platforms.

Given that, I made this comment thinking that with the upcoming cross-progression feature, it would be reasonable to at least allow those who own multiple hardware platforms to use the suits on all the platforms they own.
I was simply trying to find a mutually beneficial compromise.

I see no point in longing for an unrealistic solution to the issue at hand because the world isn’t all sunshine, rainbows and lollipops. Finding acceptance in a possible outcome that is more realistic than IO inventing time travel and not having the exclusive content to begin with like @Heisenberg suggested is much better.

I dunno, always had you down in the ā€œpro-consumer, slam IOI when they’re shitty (but praise them when they’re good)ā€ camp, but if you’re of the opinion that ending platform exclusivity on a couple of nearly identical suits is a utopian dream beyond the ken of mankind then I guess you can call me Captain Hopeless Dreams of the SS Naivete.

They could end it now, sure, always a possibility for change. I think @thrison, like myself, was just referring to wishing IOI had never made the decision at all being fairy speak.

As long as we’re all clear about calling them greedy corporate scumbags whenever they do greedy corporate scumbag stuff, let’s make sure that we never stop doing that, no matter how much they refuse to change.

I am indeed one of the few remaining HITMAN 2 players who haven’t imported their years of progress (+ 2016 Legacy Rewards) over to HITMAN 3 for a long time, because I’ve been meaning to 100% complete HITMAN 2 years ago when HITMAN 3 was released.

Initially, my goal was to just complete the Challenge Packs that were previously available in H2 but got cut in H3 so I could get their respective unlockables because I personally don’t like their new unlocking criteria in H3 by completing a number of Featured Contracts and/or Escalations. I find more fun in completing challenges that incentivise me to explore what each map has to offer, or to experiment with certain playstyles. But later on, I reckoned it’d be nice to have a complete save file for H2 whenever I return back to it while also having a head start on my H3 progression so I went full ahead on 100% completing HITMAN 2.

However, I lost interest and motivation throughout that time for other things in life until I decided to 100% complete Hitman: Absolution a couple years ago. Since then, I’ve been slowly completing every challenge for every location in HITMAN 2 where each map took me a week to fully finish and then I took long breaks in between.

But once I saw IOI announced that they’ll be discontinuing the carryover process, I spent the past couple weeks finishing off the remaining locations to have all challenges completed, and I’ve succeeded. I made it just in time before IOI pulls the plug as I’ve only just transferred my progress.

All locations from HITMAN 1 and 2 have been 100% completed with full Mastery and all challenges completed. I wish I could show off with a short video but I can’t do that here.

I’ve also killed all the H2 Elusive Targets when they were active back then, did all the Ghost Mode challenges and unlocked the Phantom Suit when that mode was available, completed the 40 Featured Contracts challenge, and fully grinded the Mastery for the three Sniper Assassin missions (for singleplayer at least, multiplayer is not feasible).

I also did all achievements including the hidden ones. When I was finishing the game, I saved Landslide for last because of one certain achievement fitting of being the final one.

Finito = Finished

After all these years, I’ve finally finished HITMAN 2 completely and can now move on to HITMAN 3: World of Assassination for good.

Is February 3 also when the new ET and update are coming ?

No that will be later in the month. It will just be a server side thing.

I’m assuming they’ll be a prompt in-game message when Cross Platform is enabled, very much like what happened in HITMAN 2?

RIP H2 to H3 progression carryover.

I successfully configured it.However, the transfer was not successful within the game(on Steam, for me).

Maybe a little more patience?

Did you complete the second screen where you had to select which platforms you wanted to enable the cross-progression on?

I’ve also done it but it hasn’t unlocked any achievements… .

I guess they didn’t take into account the achieveless Switch to PS4…

And here is me thinking that transferring to PS4 would partly resolve the broken switch version…

What a disaster. All this mess is putting me off the game, if I’m honest.
