Cut content from the 2016 Alpha

Most ETs were cut very early so they didn’t even have any dialogue made, some like

Paloma

Were cut relatively late and probably did have dialogue but just like the ET itself they were never included into the game (though some body parts of the character were used elsewhere so at least we have those)

I uploaded it here for you :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks! So for the patch0 and packagedef where do I put that specifically? In the HITMAN IO directory?

They go into the runtime folder and make sure to replace the existing packagedefinition.txt file

I wanna share some of my latest discoveries from 007 First Light, since this game shares a lot of assets with Hitman I was able to find some interesting things :slightly_smiling_face: posting it in this thread because it’s partly relevant and I don’t know where else it’d be posted (unless mods think it’s more appropriate somewhere)

First of all: one of the cut grenades from Hitman 2 (the smoke grenade) is in the game

Same thing for the cut “explosive suitcase” from Hitman 2016:

And the “scrambler coin” (variation of the RFID coin):

I’ve also found this model named “suitcase_hmlogo” which is a pretty interesting one because I’ve never seen it before and the only references we have of something of this name is a placeholder suitcase from the Hitman Alphas (Image 2)

Next, I’ve found these two "sculpture_facade_ornate
" assets, variant C and G (both missing from Hitman, variant A is also not in Hitman but sadly also not found in First Light :headstone:)

Those sculptures are pretty cool to find because the only trace we had of them was this backdrop building texture from Paris (you can see the face above the door and the rectangle under the balconies), so I guess those are more leftovers of open world Paris :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The private jet used in Hitman cutscenes:

Now for more speculative discoveries:

I found this electric car from the Hitman brand “Cafard” (full name: Cafard Petite a50)

Everything seems to point towards it being a Hitman asset but the license plate is part of the texture (something Hitman doesn’t really do as they are randomly generated) and is also a Nevada plate (a location that is not present in Hitman nor was it planned as far as we know)

Lastly there is this explosive model used for the (spoiler) “laser tripwires” on 009’s boat, but apart from looking like a Hitman explosive, the textures are way more high-res than other explosives we have, it uses a modern texture style that Hitman didn’t use and every asset for it is under the First Light project folder

I just find it interesting that they could’ve used a different model like the actual tripwire mine from Hitman but decided to use/make this one, the camera thing on the side especially intrigues me and makes me think it is actually a Hitman asset that was repurposed, but I guess we won’t know for now

Back with a few more discoveries  :tada:

Found the unused bust of Lenin from Hitman 2:

A speed limit road sign (could’ve been used in a couple levels in WoA but maybe Paris?):

Park gate and column from open world Paris:

From the looks of it, they look like the finished version of the fence that would be placed all around the sniper tower’s park (we don’t have much visual proof so bear with me)

A painting from Bangkok (Hitman has paintings from A to H + K, this is variation I, I did not find the “J” variation in First Light):

This “hospital waiting room” chair that was made for Hokkaido before they switched to black leather ones:

Sand sculpture from Hokkaido (this is variation B, A and C exist in Hitman):

A protection for pressure bottles from Miami (right is for comparison):
Interestingly, this bottle is only used twice in Whittleton Creek despite being made for Miami, I wonder if there is old trailer footage of Miami where we could see them…

A red plastic bag for this yellow bin (normally empty if opened):

Since it is only used twice in WoA (Miami and Carpathian) and the only time you see one opened is this one in Miami, I have my own theory that it might’ve been used at one point when this bin actually contained an item (during the Beta of Hitman 2)

Unused Rosetta Stone from Isle of Sgail:

A bird bath from the Garden Show in Dartmoor, designed for the English garden side (since the model uses a complex material that I cannot easily replicate in Blender, I am showing it with no textures):

Another mysterious bird bath:

I’ve also found these two signs that are not present in WoA but since they could be used anywhere I have no interesting origin to share with you :downcast_face_with_sweat:

Admittedly, I don’t have any sense of scale for the size of that object, but my first thought was a mortar (for a mortar & pestle)… Likely used by Taita (the Shaman).

Is it possible that the two signs at the end of your post there might be from The Bank? There’s a cut scene with 47 crossing the street to enter the building and there is traffic, signs, etc. I feel like it would have gone there. Or one of the sniper levels. They look really familiar

As always though, interesting stuff

Those are more intended as stickers that would go on walls or props, like the electric hazard one you see on electrical boxes

Also after a little bit of digging (was very easy to find), they did use those red pressure bottles in Miami during early Pre-Beta before switching to the red canisters seen throughout WoA (they’re pretty old because gameplay demos of Gamescom/E3 2018 already had them gone)

No sign of the protection being used on any of them however
