Darker atmosphere for the next game

First, I think WoA is a great game and the developers did a phenomenal job on it.

There is one thing however I wish for the next game, when it comes out one day. I think the game should be waaaay darker than WoA is. Story-wise and also regarding 47’s character. He got humanized a lot since Absolution to the point where he kinda looks like weeper compared to the Contracts 47 or the Blood Money 47. For instance remember the dialogue with 47 and Lucas Grey where Lucas tells 47 not to blindly trust Diana and he’s like “Oh, no way, she’ll make it right.” (Something like this, I don’t remember the exact line.) Like, who is she? His mother? Compared to Blood Money or even Contracts, WoA is so … friendly and … bright and … happy, kinda like visiting a Disneyland.

I don’t know how many might or might not agree with me on this, this is just my personal take.

Again, I absolutely love WoA. It’s probably the best single player game out there currently and it works well the way it is. But that’s one thing I had on my mind.

Berlin, Hawke’s Bay, Chongqing (outside)… have a great dark atmosphere. I feel like Woa needs more maps like this… more rain, more foggy weather

Erm… Dartmoor…!?

I thought this was talking about the darker (or more eff’ed-up) scenarios in the other games, like The Meat King Party.

Or the parallels one could make about the WoA Paris mission with the guy who didn’t kill himself.

Isle of S’gail being an Eyes Wide Shut reference without the Georgie Porgies (in the dungeon). There could’ve even been a human sacrifice event.

But nah. Darker, as in we just need to turn the lights down a little.

Take any disturbing situation you can imagine, and I’ll still hope for 47 to give us his dry, witty one-liners in the most deadpan voice.

No, you’re right, that’s actually what I meant. Not just turning lights down but really more evil stuff. Going after human traffickers or something sinister like that.

Also 47 being the cold blooded remorseless killer he was in the earlier titles. Killing mailmen because they’ve seen his face or when Diana said to him in BM she didn’t know if she was gonna live much longer and he just calmly replied “Sorry to hear that. Has my fee been transferred?”. That kind of character.

I agree. Contracts has the best atmosphere out of all of the games for me for this reason. I wouldn’t mind the game having smaller maps if they were as brilliant as The Meat King’s Party.

I disagree. Hitman is dark and brutal enough.

Also would be cool with the dark and cold ICA where they tell 47 to kill the other twin in Malaysia just to fufill the client’s order and how a contract is a contract and nothing is going to stop 47 from executing it.

Also maybe have 47 contemplating or reflecting over death and how he find himself between being an outsider of the world but also very involved (voluntarily or not) in terms of causing people’s demise and how that effects the wolrd that 47 doesn’t really care for. And yet he does bc he wants to find purpose.

So much potential for future hitman games. One can only be patient and hope IO gets to do more exploration.
