Its like Lucas’ Star Wars Trilogies vs Disney’s Trilogy.
Well both trilogies have instances of poor planning and pantsing. I mean George Lucas clearly didn’t plan the prequels when he wrote A New Hope and Disney is more of a “Too many cooks” type of deal on top of having no clear plan.
“levelling creatively”?
im not saying IOI shouldn’t make the story better, im specifically talking about the way they plan for things and what i “assume”. of course i’d love for the writers to be masterminds, but thats just not the case.
true, but again, we know they had some sort of plan. we just dont know how detailed that plan was, and whether or not the plan already had the memory juice written into stone (among other plot points)
I know but that is the problem these games die at the planning stages to me. It feels like the main story writers are just taking whatever ideas they have at the time then fill in the blanks on top of having to link the ideas the level designers have for their levels and their individual stories.
True but then again plans can go just as wrong as freestyle. I just think IO don’t give what they have written enough time in the oven.
I have no proof of memory juice being something whipped up other than its poor execution as an idea, it feeling wedged in to the plot and existing merely to move the plot along. It feels like it is triggering some sort of sixth sense I like to think I have.
i think they can remedy the very rickety story they currently have on their hands in HITMAN 3. we know the narrative is at the forefront this time, we know they have the criticism from HITMAN 2 (in 2016, there wasnt exactly much story to criticize), and we know the script is (apparently) “like Chekov”.
they can end the story strong despite what happened so far. something where the writers are all working in tandem to creative a cohesive ending that fits both the levels and the main story. that’s what im hoping anyway…
Well I am glad you are optimistic, I am having trouble finding any hope in the ending. I would like nothing more than to be blown away but that hope seems to grow fainter by the minute.
i think you should be more positive being too hopeless affects your mental state.
even if the story doesnt turn out like you hope, it’s better to be disappointed on January 20th than to be feel disappointed for the next 4 weeks leading up to the game
See it’s a good thing this is a video game and not a book.
Where did the whole of literature touch you? You seem to have a thing against books.
I love books. I just don’t think they’re video games. I’ve never read a book and thought “know what would make this better? If it was eight hours long and had a crafting system!” But people play video games looking for books.
Well, gotta fit those Mk. III unlocks somewhere… (emoji edited

Ad 1: Yes. Didn´t go well…
Ad 2: Not anymore
Jesus this is The I Hate Hitman Forum if I’ve ever seen it. A decision made purely for budget, in a game with no progression transfer isn’t going to show up again in a higher budgeted game that lets you keep unlocks.
I’ve never seen a community so consistently dedicated to hating the franchise it’s dedicated to. What next? “Oh they’re making a Germany level, IO wants the second coming of the fourth reich! A night level? Doesn’t IO know that’s where rapists do their best work? IOI cures cancer and aids and Covid with Hitman 3? Meh, they’re clearly responsible for overpopulation and poverty.”
I’m being facetious but at least try to appreciate a rainbow instead of expecting more rain.
Jeez, you get triggered easily Calm down, I was only making a joke about it. My bad for not using a more “appropriate” emoji. Gonna edit that jtbs.
i dont disagree, but Rimland was joking
The MK II fiasco has largely being a meme now, initially people were either annoyed by it or not at all. They were annoyed because people felt dumbfounded that Hitman, known to fans as a professional game (ironically marketed as comical), see pink stickers in their game. It does sound elitist to some, and I can understand why people want to hate it. But now that Hitman 2 is well over 2 years old, it has mostly being relaxed and mellowed out into a meme.
It used to be people were pissed, but now people take the piss of Hitman instead.
the mk2 stuff was ridiculous because of the fact that it was totally unnecessary. they could have simply made the same unlocks as in the first season. it wouldn’t have changed anything but the inventory wouldn’t have been so full of rubbish
The comics are canon, the books and movies are not (thank god).
Yeah, MKIII items won’t probably show up in H3, after the “MKII fiasco”.
MKII items have a certain logic (quite difficult to understand): H2 was a standalone game that didn’t carry over the progression of H1 items. IOI wouldn’t also penalize “H2-only” players by providing them essential items like lockpick, silverballer, sniper, poison/emetic pills… Maybe IOI chose the MKII sticker as a kind of funny way to introduce duplicate items. A bet that didn’t succeed…
However, imagine the reverse situation: H2 introduced only new items with new mechanics but very few essential items (for example: no pills whatsoever). I guess that most of the players (even the ones who possess H1 legacy pack) would be unhappy or upset, saying that IOI did that only for forcing new players to buy legacy DLC.
IOI also made fun of themselves by implementing a briefcase MKII with special physics and a sticker half unstuck (like someone has tried to remove it).
So, MKIII won’t probably make a return in H3, but I guess we still get some duplicate (triplicate?) items in H3, with different names to avoid MKIII. The trinity pack will introduce three different pistols with apparently no difference between them beside the color.
Will see what IOI do for H3 in January 2021.
I’m pretty sure the books are canon, and they’re not that bad at all. I’ve read the first and am halfway through the second and it’s been an interesting read
Well that’s fine then. I thought you were being legit. It’s hard not to get annoyed when there’s people who legitimately have a down and gloom attitude about this game like @Accidental_Kills98 (no offence). And sarcasm isn’t exactly something that shows up on text.
