On that note, I do want to ask about the inconsistent pronunciation of names in this game, and the irritation that comes with it. Diana originally pronounces is Vi-chent-ey Mur-ill-o, now it’s being pronounced Vis-ent-ey Mur-ell-o; some say Le-Sheef, others say Le-Sheef-er; 47 says Chong-king, Diana says Chong-Ching, and so on. Can we get some consistent pronunciations please.
Apperantly, Murillo himself does not pronounce his name properly.

Diana can’t even make her mind about how to pronounce “Chongqing” either since she says both of those depending on the mission :x
The one I hate the most though, is that guy who takes your invitation in Mendoza and who says “bienvido” instead of “bienvenido”. And I get to hear that fucker massacre Spanish every.single.time I play that location even when I come from the party itself >_<
Mark Fab-er!
Anyway, directing voice acting is harder than we think. Actors are gonna be inconsistent.
Look, pronounciations will always vary. Let’s not get crazy!!
No one is perfect and that includes the games characters. Maybe Lucia is Lou-See-ah and maybe it’s Loosh-a. No way to be certain till the person who has that name confirms it. The localization is more important. 47 is supposed to speak many languages so if I am the player and I speak only Russian or only Madarin the game has always translated it for me bc 47 speaks English and this level is in English.
Between the same characters saying the same names in different ways? I can maybe understand 47, since he talks to people in different locations, but Diana, who only talks to 47? Actors don’t just change up the pronunciations, so that means that Diana’s VA was told to say it different than how she said it before. In which case, why didn’t they tell her that then? And everyone else suddenly saying established names with different pronunciation? Poor communication? No research? It makes no sense, and it really messes with me.
Probably a lack of communication between teams. “Chongqing” is pronounced correctly during The Rage because by that time IOI realized they used a wrong pronounciation for End of an Era, but somehow they didn’t re-record the original line and reused it for Freelancer. Which means that some people got the memo but some didn’t :x
I call bullshit on this thank you very much. I didn’t know it was possible to fail during a cutscene.
This is another reminder of why Arcade complications should be optional.
Lando never said Han the same as Luke and Leia ![]()
This reminds me of an old H1 FC where you couldn’t kill non-targets in Sapienza and after many, many attempts - as I was exiting and using the car exit, 47 ran over and killed a target and I failed.
Ever since then I’ve killed the cutscene as fast as possible and is now just a habit. Had forgotten why I even do it until now.
Came back to finish this. Tried this strat first in the Arcade. Going along the left side to the tailers near the back garden, shot the camera, bullet distraction for one guard, threw a screwdriver for the guard by the shed window, then a coin for the 2 waiters on break.
Climbed up the pipe, snuck into the office to poison the
, then tossed the letter opener over the railing for the guard to fetch. Target dead before I could get to the ground. I waited a bit for the 2 guards to get around a corner to avoid being caught. Exited via the mostly vacant basement.
I’m glad I got this pack. I do want to try the other story line options like whatever happens in the basement. I’ve tried to avoid most of this topic so it’s not spoiled. ![]()
But he always said it the same way, right? He never changed it up from one pronunciation to another, did he?
Fell victim to exactly the same issue myself in the ETA; I knew that you could get spotted while in the exiting cutscene, but expected the game to ignore it because, well, it happens in a cutscene.
Unlike a few people here, I’ve never had a problem with being spotted or NPC deaths penalizing me during an exit cutscene. This is wild to me. Is this a bug? Or is this actually something well known and common? I’ve never seen this.
This was my partner’s first ET and since he’s only up to Colorado so far, so yeah it’s quite funny to watch that interaction and hope he doesn’t question it too much lol
Needless to say this was a really good elusive target, can’t say I have any complaints. Although, it would have been nice for Le Chiffre’s bio to also add the location of the serum after it mentions he may poison 47, as when Diana said “the parking lot” I took that to mean the one in the south-west not south-east of the map ![]()
(oh, and i’m pretty sure smith’s quest-giving interaction had a typo in it, can remember it was the last word in a sentence but i forget where)
I always figured that it didn’t alter the mission outcome; at least for main Story missions, I’ve consistently noted that you could get spotted during the snowmobile exit in Hokkaido (by the exterior-patrolling guard pair when they’re at the garage), but that never affected your rating (even if you let the full exit cutscene play out).
(There’s certainly many more examples I’m missing, like Thrison noted with the car exit killing an NPC in Sapienza)
You can still do propane kills? I thought they removed that as a thing you can do (or maybe I’m thinking about hitman 1).
Fire extinguishers now just knock people out. No more duck + fire extinguisher = accident kill
