Elusive Target #36: THE INFILTRATOR feat Bruce Lee as your partner (Year 6: 25 March - 26 April 2026)

Live again for those that still need the Apple

From last evening.

A few fun finds, that I haven’t seen talked about.
And a few other puzzling finds, that I wonder about.

Interesting.

The new fight mechanic.

Even more improved!

You need to read the opponent movements to see where they will defend, and where they will attack. And direct your action accordingly.

Central to the Rory Cutmore opportunity.
(you can find him in the first floor public bar, the one where Jacky Carrington can give you her keycard in the main mission)

There is a brand new balcony on the first floor!

And a brand new kind of doors.

It gives access to the Meadow Brown Lounge, easily navigable to the Beauty Camberwell Lounge.
There stands placed an back-turned-on Tournament Invitation.
For the easy NKO routes.

Puzzling, in a fun way

The safe on the highest floor

I have no idea how to open it.
I don’t know where the combination is.
I also don’t know where the keycard for this particular room is. (edit: carried by Xiao, I suspected it was her room, no combination though)

I suspect the combination is supposed to be on a note hidden in the model boat.
It’s highlighted in instinct.
Usually it means destructible for hidden item. But it’s not.

So asking for insight here.

If it contains a second antidote, it means I might have an easy SASONKO route in mind I’m currently frustrated to test out by this safe roadblock.

The Office opportunity for Roland Chau

Is there an other Office Keycard, only seen the one carried by the target himself?
It must.

Because there is an opportunity to attract him by canceling a transaction on his laptop.
But the only designed way in is by piggybacking him. Static NPC make key hackers non-viable in design intent.
At least that I can see.
At which point the opportunity is redundant, and the keycard too. Since you are already with him in the room, alone, and isolated.

So would appreciate a new pair of eyes here.
I think I missed something. Would love to learn more.

The Gift for Jialong Wu

There is a gift you can conceal an item in, in Wu’s Master Bedroom.
Obviously could be used for a device (emetic, explosive). Even some fun with the RFID.

But he visibly reacts to it. Saying no-one can find something interesting.
An eavesdropped dialogue also hints as him only being impressed by original, unordinary tributes.

So I wonder if there is a particular item you can put inside that would make it react.
And maybe change his behaviour or routine.

In arcade,you can make people lose fight by keep blocking their way before fight,can make a 25 minute run… 怐CZCJiaxuć€‘ć€Šę€ę‰‹ļ¼šęš—ę€äø–ē•Œć€‹éšē§˜č”—ęœŗ č›Ÿé¾™ļ¼ˆęø—é€č€…ļ¼‰ ęŽå°é¾™ ęœ€ē»ˆå…³ PSNęš‚ę—¶äø–ē•Œē¬¬äø€_哔哩哔哩bilibili

Breaching charge doesn’t work? Or bigger explosives (which might destroy the boat too)?

EMP might work?

Wow half the objectives aren’t even translated to Chinese, good work localization team -_-

This missions sucks. I failed the ET without having any real chance to do something about it.

Mission starts, no directions. That’s fine. I knock out a drunk dude in an outfit, take it, go upstairs to get my bearings. Lee’s been poisoned, apparently? But it’s a minor paralytic, not fatal - should be fine. I want to participate in the fight, but also to listen to the dialogue, and apparently I take too long listening and lose by default. Ok.

I go searching for a poison cure. Find my way upstairs, hack a door (lucky I brought a keycard hacker) and see a ship. Nice, it might be in there! There’s a kettle ball in the room, so I throw it at the ship. Nothing happens. I throw my briefcase. Nothing happens. I can’t break it with objects, and I don’t have a pistol (they frisk you). Ok. I go back to get my pistol which I stashed earlier. Hey, Lee’s fighting! Oh, he lost. Wonder what happens now.

Mission fails.

Really? So now I have a failed ET and I didn’t get any chance to interact with it. I couldn’t find this poison cure, nor was I given any directions to where to find one. Where is it? In a random room upstairs? In the safe in the opposite wing? The basement? Outside? My ass? No hints.

I spent 14 minutes running around just to scope everything out, and apparently that means I’m not allowed to play anymore. Thanks!

I like the premise of this mission and how you can manipulate the tournament in different ways but it’s too cumbersome for an ET mission with insta-fail situations and no saves. I don’t understand why IO is still doing this when everyone would prefer these being normal missions. It would be a relatively fun mission otherwise. I had to restart a dozen times and still screwed up in the end when I thought the main target would actually kill Lee and tried to shoot the chandelier above him. Got caught, had a huge firefight but still made it out.

I was badly misled by previous missions, assuming they’d learned from the Fixer. When I was playing the Disruptor, you can let him beat the absolute shit out of Tim Quinn for as many times and as long as you want - he’ll never die. But Bruce Lee goes down in one round and that’s it, no second try? Come on.

My preference goes for this: it’s a long ET window in order to leave some time to IOI staff to fix the different bugs.

So much things to do and test :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:… and under the rules of an ET arcade  :expressionless_face:

It’s now time to finish off ET arcade and make these ET missions regular ones (with saves, unlimited replayability w/o doing the whole Arcade with restrictions again and again…). This format is no longer suitable for this game!

From the Breaching Charge on the safe, to the Semtex Demo Block on the boat.
Even brought the Striker for the joy of it. :collision:
I recognize you here.

Nothing.
And I don’t see other natural for Hitman places for the combination.
Knocked out guards, npcs…
Even went to the security hub just in case.

I will have to check this evening.
But I think it will. Always forget about it for keycard lock.
Thanks!

I would still like to see if there is a level designed way in the Office.

Does anyone know what does paralytic poison do?

Makes you auto-fail if you don’t cure him

If you hear Diana say ā€œ47, Lee has been eliminated from the tournamentā€, restart immediately unless you want a big fat ā€œFailedā€ on your ET.

I’ve been running into an issue where Jiaolong refuses to meet Lee in Level 2 of the Arcade. I haven’t been able to isolate what specifically is causing it. I have only two hunches so far:

  • I immediately get rid of Jiaolong’s body guard, take his disguise, and hide the body… or

I grab the officiator’s disguise and speed up the tournament by starting the fight, backing off the podium, bumping into the disgruntled contestant, then run back to the podium and disqualify the opponent while they aren’t looking.

The second seems more likely, but it takes roughly 10-15 minutes to get to the end and see if I’m thrown into an unwinnable state for Level 2. There is no feedback on why he doesn’t show up. It just times out and Lee walks away.

A maybe not so elegant way I’ve found is going into the bathroom opposite to it and from there shooting left of the office door. If done correctly, the nearby guard will walk past the door to investigate the shot, leaving a window to slip a keycard hacker in with no one looking.

Have only completed the mission a handful of times so far, but I really like it at the moment. Also surprised to see the map seemingly also slightly rearranged in terms of drain pipes and balconies (at least if memory serves me right) on top of the new exit. But Idk if I want to sit through another clean hands run waiting for the tournament to resolve. Still, I was pleasantly surprised to see a celebrity ETA with no ā€œdon’t get spottedā€ final stage, but instead something that makes use of the mission’s unique gimmick.

I want to experiment more, but unfortunately ETA format makes that somewhat difficult.

For my ā€œrealā€ run of the ET, I wanted to do it SASONKO with accident/poison kills only, except I did kill main target with a neck snap because I didn’t feel like waiting in the audience chair again.

Starting loadout was Kruger, lethal syringe and keycard hackers. At the start went to the adjacent room being cleaned and used the balcony there to reach the bar. Took 2 nearby coins and piggybacked black shirt guy into office. Toss coin by the open window, wait for him to approach, push and leave. Doing this early also makes Lee not get drugged. Next up, waited for the time window to climb from staircase into restricted area and hacked my way into the room with the prisoner and took car battery for later. After main target enters the bedroom and starts a phonecall, bonk his bodyguard, then him, snap necks, throw both into nearby closet. For shirtless guy, I shot his door thrice from main target’s bedroom, then used the panic to slip in with a car battery. Overflow bathroom sinks, drop car battery, leave when situation outside calms down. For the lady, I used placed coins and a peekaboo to lure her into the restricted cloak room, where she was then lethally poisoned.

If you mean the vials, I bet that if you make the contestants ingest that, they will lose their next match just like Lee does when poisoned. Didn’t try it myself though.

So I paid for the Bruce Lee DLC, and when I try to download it, this bullcrap pops up.

Maybe it’s also possible to place a coin at the base of the door and wait for someone to pick it up, NPCs can often open locked doors this way.
