The mission concept sounds pretty weird, but the 7DS were actually pretty good at establishing oneiric atmospheres (especially Sloth and Envy) so I hope this will be more of the same. Dunno how the whole “assisting Eminem” thing will end up though, although I’m kinda expecting a “twist” where he was Slim Shady all along.
I hope that since it takes place on Hokkaido it will attempt some kind of explanation or follow-up of the ending of the Disruptor (but I’m not getting my hopes up considering IOI basically threw that ET under the carpet).
I also hope that whoever made that DLC limited time again will get fired.
In the trailer, is the part where 47 is dragging a struggling NPC along the ground a new animation? Doesn’t look like a drag from a fibrewire or a KO to me, on first glance.
Seems like an odd time in the games life cycle to add new animations. My two cents, is that it isn’t present in the game. But rather something done to add tension to the promotion material. I could be wrong.
I have a hard time seeing what dragging conscious npc’s around would add. Other than alerting others. I can’t imagine them being quiet about a bald man dragging them across the floor and trying to stuff them in a freezer.
It would be pointless compared to knocking them out as we always do.
I would also have made that trade, I believe we all would have. Sadly that’s not an option though. I’m just shocked we’re still getting any content at all.
I kind of hate this because I hate eminem and everything he is but whatever I’ll still play this and pay money for the DLC I won’t use. ioi owns me and my bloodline
As others have mentioned, the IOI Showcase teaser silhouette and the actual render don’t match. I put both images side by side and there’s definitely a difference.
Maybe it’s a case of a placeholder image? Or someone else initially planned?
Well some of us have been able to guess who ETs have been in the past on their silhouette before. I would say this is like when car companies put dazzle camo on public test cars. It is to trick the eye and make it harder to remember what you have seen or puzzle out what you are seeing.
Didn’t expect that. Kind of have mixed feelings about this. I think Eminem is one of the best rappers and I love his music. But on the other hand he’s homophobic and misogynistic sometimes. With his lates album he tried to grow out of those bad sides but still can’t shake them off completely. Still got a lot of problematic lyrics in there.
I’m not sure if this is just an act, an illusion about his persona or if he is like that for real.
So it will be interesting to see what kind of mission we will get with him.
Anyway. Will probably listen back to some of his albums over the weekend (got them all on vinyl of course…).
Simple explanation to that: plans change.
With IOI it’s not the first time they announce one thing, but do different.
No surprise to me.
Most likely there was another celebrity planned, but they didn’t reach agreement with them or decided to change priorities and just rolled out a surprise which nobody expected.
I personally like this move.
And there is no forbiddance to IOI for adding planned person later. Possibly due to yet ongoing negotiation
for sure. I can’t help by wonder what will come next?
