Haha, I know about the Arcade. But my guess is that most new players just try the ET first and get frustrated.
The real problem will be the fact that this ET is meant for new players.
Think about being one of them, all that hype for the mission that can last shortly because you fail immediately and you can’t play that anymore because you’re locked.
Was it worth the wait? Waiting for days just to fail and not having more chanches?
I know that there is the ET arcade but again, new players will struggle to see the Eminem arcade contract because they will be new to the menu so they will think that there is only the playable once version.
Maybe IOI should turn these missions into 'campaign secondary missions, within patient zero, seven deadly sins etc(of course they will always be locked behind a paywall like it should be).
Same. I didn’t even bother completing the Bruce Lee one because it wasn’t fun and the suit unlock was a reskin of the black dragon suit. ![]()
I’d trade all CelebrET’s for a new Patient Zero-esque campaign on reworked maps.
Reddit, Facebook, X (Twitter) and YouTube are all buzzing about it, which is great news for the game to be honest ![]()
I’m always a fan of any content for the game, so I’m hyped either way! ![]()
So basically what you’re saying is that you get one shot? One opportunity.

Seriously?
I think the main issue for me is the arcades like we get to have the mission which I love but the second level is always a complication which I don’t want to do because it restricts gameplay.
which side note why is the deceivers not in the arcade once but twice and still you can’t take load out in it’s crazy and they won’t add the fixer either.
I don’t have an issue with Celeb ET I just wish they gave us them on maps they barely use for targets: Dubai, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, New York, haven, etc instead of another hitman 1 map I’d even take another Miami target.
I’m looking forward to this target non the less I’m trying to figure out from the trailer where exactly things are and what’s changed because what I do like about these recent ET is how much they change the maps for them to make them feel like they’re own missions and not a random target smacked onto the main mission map with the main targets still waltzing around. I wonder what the shtick will be for this mission aswell these seem to love doing a little fun twist recently to ET’s.
Anyone else find it strange that every other celeb target announced recently dropped same day as release but this one’s dropping nearly two weeks after
Yeah I’ve never been too fussed about the celebrity stuff but a new mission’s a new mission
Ma’s spaghetti
I’ll guarantee will be an option for eliminating Slim Shady
I’m just wondering will the doors operate the same way. Hope you can get the master keycard from smith in the morgue.
I just had to. It was too obvious!
I checked with the team and apparently the cooldown has been reduced to 30 minutes atm. I know we are currently looking into potential further changes to it, but I will report more on that when I can. ![]()
Also regarding the Loadout on Hokkaido I will get access to the build today (hopefully) and will check how it looks like exactly.
The main issue is that new users find it difficult to grasp the difference between “Elusive Target (one-time only)” and “Elusive Target Arcade (unlimited attempts after a 30-minute wait).”
We need to ensure new users understand the flow: “First try ETA to get a feel for the mission, then challenge ET once you’re familiar with it.”
Having an in-game explanation that clearly compares the two content types in a way new users can easily understand would be more helpful.
Ah gotcha!
I know we are working on a small tutorial video for newcomers to learn “how to play the new elusive target”. This one is scheduled to be released this weekend or monday at the latest. Hopefully this will help them. Thanks for the headsup!
Or maybe they could leave the Elusive and Arcade system.
I get that it’s part of the WoA brand, and it might alone guarantee player attention, and count.
But the celebrETs are meant to outreach, yet they are terrible ambassadors for the game.
They are punishing to the core replayability and experimentation of the game.
It also is a detriment to themselves as missions.
A famous “Eureka” moment when the game was created was to make the player play the tutorial level twice, the second freeform and with a showing of the challenges to hint and make the player curious.
The celebrET are now complex, and with a multitude of opportunities. They are also longer.
But most will not take the risk, or even discover them.
Who played with the Cutmore opportunity? How many abandoned the fight system because it was “too risky”?
Maybe they could be missions, with half a dozen challenges.
Maybe even make the DLC Pack items unlockable through challenges.
It’s more play, more discovery, and better ambassadors to what the game is.
Can we please get the ability to tap a button and have 47 switch to this two-handed stance when holding handguns?! It looks so awesome.
The animation seems awfully familiar and I’m sure it’s used in some cutscene. I thought it could be this one but it i’m not totally sure.
I agree with @LandirtHome here.
The Elusive Target concept and formula are just outdated. The whole selling point of the celebrities are, well, the celebrities themselves. The ET formula doesn’t add anything and only takes away the enjoyment. The arcade, while it’s replayable, forces you to play the mission with a mandatory restrictive complication that is only fun to do maybe once. This is particularly annoying with the Bruce Lee arcade where completing the mission with the complication is ass numbingly long and makes multiple playthroughs a pain.
You could just release those packs as standard missions with challenges and the enjoyability and replay value will greatly increase. You could keep the limited time aspect only for the people who don’t own the DLC and maybe also restrict some elements like the challenges, that way all players still get to try the mission for free but there is an incentive to buy the DLC to get the extra stuff.
Also, given that there is someone from IO that’s finally listening, I want to reiterate that having limited time DLC (or Elusive DLC as I like to call them) is just repulsive and predatory. They did it for the Bruce Lee pack and seemingly for the Eminem pack too. Why?
I’m guessing that the CelebrET strategy is starting to fail and the number of people buying the DLC is plummeting, so they’re using the time limited aspect to use FOMO to increase the DLC sales as the ventures aren’t making as much money as they were before.
So far, neither of the CelebrETs this year have caused a massive spike in the player numbers on Steam like The Disruptor and The Splitter did last year. On Steam, the number of players on The Banker release weekend were lower than the weekend before, same thing happened when they re-released The Banker in August (likely due to the initial release flopping). It also repeated when The Infiltrator released.
Unless the Eminem release blows things out of the water, I’d be surprised if next week isn’t the last CelebrET since giving away Episode: Sapienza away for free before it was delisted out performed the CelebrETs.
The celebs are to pull new players in and to convert them from FSP players to paid players - but if they aren’t coming in en masse on the FSP anymore, then they can’t convert them to paid and the strategy is bust.
Meanwhile, last year:
Yeah maybe they should take some work to change the prices because buying all the et packs (eminem included) has a similar cost to the deluxe pack, which has x5 the content that these ET things have LOL
^^^^^ 100% agree with this!!! ^^^^^
