I’m waiting more than 48 hours so…
I hate how story focused these ETs are. I mean, I like when there’s cool scripted events in missions, but with something like The Harbinger if you enter the lab before Lilith she just spawns in, and the door to leave only opens after HERB finishes talking. Environmental things shouldn’t be dependant on like story dialogue, it’s so stupid and not what anyone likes about Hitman
I like this ET overall btw. I just don’t like seeing them become more and more like a basic ass story based AAA game
After completing 2 different approaches & avoiding the virus completely for the Elusive Target, i tried Arcade Mode to see if there was any other ways of killing Lilith Devereux once the virus is activated this time. After doing some testing, I figured out a way to get a Single Sniper Headshot Kill on Lilith Devereux right from the main road! There is a way to get her to go to the balcony alone @ the front of the Mansion. I also discovered a strategy to prevent the virus from spreading pretty quick. I’m going to try the ET for a third time & see if it works
If successful, I’ll upload the gameplay.
I played this mission yesterday… and my opinion is not so different from different posts submitted earlier.
- Speaking of the mission alone: The mission is pretty cool overall. It brings new gameplay mechanics, reminiscent of the Patient Zero in Hokkaido. But it goes further by proposing an antidote mechanic through different ways (Kalmer 3, remote device…). Always nice to see fresh new mechanics brought to this “old” game. Just look at the implementation of elevators, and altering the Dartmoor map by adding a secret lab under the manor. Great move IOI!
- Ironically, the gameplay additions increase the frustration… Let me explain. The format of this mission (ET) is downgrading a lot what a Hitman game is!
- Hitman is a game based on observing targets’ routines, seeking opportunities, watching elements that are available (cards, keys, items, poisons…). The first time you play a mission takes time. You don’t go directly in front of the target putting a bullet in their head (even though it could work). The preparation time is a part of the “Hitman puzzle”. Because of that, saving and being able to try, see the consequences, reload, retry differently… is part of it (in my opinion).
- With the one-time-only format, you cannot explore everything… rendering the ET format absolutely frustrating. Luckily, the ET Arcade is there… but still… removing the save ability, and locking the mission with a 30-minutes lockout (thankfully, it was decreased in a previous patch), are degrading the Hitman experience.
In conclusion:
- It’s f***** (pardon my French) time to get rid of the ET format. Let us explore the CelebrET missions like any regular missions. IOI wants to attract new players with the CelebrET… but the ET format can frustrate casual players (the fact that they have one and a single chance is degrading their experiences). Perhaps it’s a way to force them to buy DLC (oh you want to play this mission you’ve failed… pay for it).
- Even though adapting ET missions to Special Assignement would be great, the ET Arcade is actually not a big deal. Indeed, the issues with this format can be easily fixed. How?
- Removing the lockout time: it was decreased a few time ago… Let’s go towards that direction by removing it completely.
- Making secondary objectives purely optional: it is the case for the Contagion and most of the ET arcades. I did see that it was also the case for the Dragon. Why not making them optional for the others (Undying, Splitter, Drop, Banker, and the Disruptor - the fix is simple - swap this guy with an average NPC)?
- Decreasing 5-levels Arcades ET to the regular 3-levels (to keep consistency between them).
Come on IOI… Special assignement for ET missions
@scoobywizard made this video and it has taught me a lot about the mission. It’s worth watching! <3 ![]()
Thank you for all the credit as well.
So did anyone do that second mission story.
Getting the recording from the maid? In the office where Aaron Ford is from the main mission.
You can get the recording from the laptop, make sure you have an Ether hazmat suit on. Best to acquire it near the bathroom where Patrick would normally be in the main mission.
the Kitchen install the flash drive on computer and the team leader will hear it. Then asks you to follow to target.
then his guard shoots the target without you having to do anything.
Really good.
Same as in Hawkes Bay. Might have been intentional choice by developers, to be honest.
I do love that the torches work in the Carpathian mountains but here it was just an oversight.
Let me start by saying that I agree that the amount of work that goes into these missions does make it a genuine shame that they are time limited and failure is a permanent condition (timed for the arcade). That said:
I think we should start, as a community, to understand that at this point in the lifecycle of the game, Saving and Loading are the exception rather than the rule. If you look at the various modes within the game, saving and loading are only permitted for the story missions (including side missions). You cannot save in Freelancer, Elusive Targets, Escalations (including the entirety of 7 Deadly Sins), Contracts, Sniper missions or any of the Seasonal content. There are now far more missions where saving is disabled than there are where saving is enabled.
While I don’t personally like that direction (I think saving should be allowed for EVERY type of mission), the direction that IOI is moving makes it highly unlikely that they’ll just change their mind. They are tied to these formats and I just don’t see bringing it up every other post as productive anymore.
Start a petition to enable saving across the entire game and I’ll happily sign it but at this point, IOI knows that we want it and is not willing to change their stance so far as we can tell.
@IOI_Artjoms has there been any discussion on enabling saving for any of these modes or any interest in moving some of these very impressive and detailed missions to a mode where saving is allowed? If not, I think it’s time to stop beating this dead horse… just my opinion though.
This is more likely the case. It’s not practical to have a beaming torch on you if you’re trying to be stealthy after all. The train mission is ok in this regard given the linearity.
I wholeheartedly disagree with your opinion, and think that you fold faster than Superman on laundry day.
I wonder why saving is not allowed in so many game modes? Is it for technical reasons or is it to not game the high scores list? If it’s the latter, then I have a proposition.
Allow saving anywhere and anytime, but your mission score only goes to the leaderboard, if you complete the mission without saving.
Maybe exclude Freelancer to maintain the rogue-like aspect.
When you’re playing a custom contract, you can use saving at first to freely explore different options. When you’ve decided what you want to do, then you can go for the ‘no saving’ run and get a highscore.

What they should do is change the Elusive Targets Arcade tab to an Elusive Targets Archive tab, and then within that have two sections where you can choose Elusive Targets and Arcade. Arcade is just the normal Arcade as it is now, and Elusive Targets is all the ETs that have come before, with save and load and maybe some new challenges (if you wanna be nice). If you really want to be greedy, you could even do like £10 DLCs that are like Elusive Target Pack - Season 1, Paris, Celebrity, however you want to divide it. Maybe they don’t wanna do this because then it devalues the need to play the basic ETs as they come out. Whatever. But the CelebrET Arcade Packs are basically special assignments already: it’s the same target for two levels with no changes beyond an optional, basic objective. So why not just make it an actual special assignment with saves and loads. It would be such a free win.
Quite ironically it has a literal opposite effect on me.
I didn’t bought single Celebrity pack because I don’t enjoy Arcade formula for NEW content.
Obviously if these were Bonus Missions or Special Assignments with saving and handfull of challenges (both classics and mission specific) I’ll probably have bought all of them already ![]()
That’s fair.
Not sure what that means though.
No yeah, I’m pretty sure there’s some VIP guard AI too. But I think those are usually used for guards specifically guarding frisk checkpoints.
Maybe it’s easier to program those to ignore distractions or shove them onto someone else since they aren’t moving anywhere. With a target roaming a level, it might be hard to have distinctions between “ignore distraction/find a low-level guard” and “follow distraction”
the standard “target bodyguard” AI and the Berlin Agent AI both do this
Damn. Thanks. Yeah I guess there isn’t much to the follow routine other than an easy way to get her isolated. Otherwise the Mission Story would have continued to something more scripted.
I tried to get her to follow me into the elevator last night, hoping there was some special opportunity down there, but she can’t follow you in there (and the elevator doesn’t move)
There’s an acid container in the lab in the basement and I’m kinda frustrated there’s no use for it. Thought it was a tease for something.
Also kinda annoyed we can’t use a hazmat suit in the lab. I tried to have, you know, common sense, when entering a spooky virus lab with biohazard signs everywhere, but nah, 47 just walks in expecting his aura to save him I guess.
Anyone know if you can get into a physical confrontation with Lillith like in the trailer?
Though I feel like that was only added for the money-shot… 47 getting syringed in the spine is probably a death sentence. ![]()
