This is really good, and thanks scooby for making this video.
Kinda unrelated, but, this is the second day in a row youtube has been auto-giving me some “voice track translation” fuckery…
The “original” video audio is lableled under German (DE)?? (Despite being in english)
Yet Youtube auto-defaulted the video to play “English US”.
I noticed it when Diana has her “get out 47!” And HERB goes: “I have to kill you now”.
Because, weirdly, Diana had a robotic american male voice and HERB too…! Wtf? Take a listen yourself, its WEEEIIRD…
Well, that, sure. I meant the scripted-looking takedown she performs on 47 in the trailer, I wondered if that could occur anywhere in the level. Just a trailer thing I guess.
(But again, seems like it would be a fail state thing and that would SUCK for an ET, so I get why it wouldn’t make sense.)
Gregory stays in his room, the maid stays in the small office, and no one else goes into either location. So if you take out Charlotte, no one else gets infected.
It turns out it’s very easy to stop Charlotte before she gets to the foyer: when you re-enter the library, go through the adjacent door to the foyer and up the stairs. You’ll be in plenty of time to shoot her or throw something at her head as she goes to the opposite stairs.
If you don’t stop her, it seems Charlotte can do one of two things: either she comes downstairs and stands watching the process in the foyer, only infecting a few people, or she comes downstairs, watches for a moment, then walks over to the other side of the foyer to infect most of the room. It feels like the difference is her AI getting stuck rather than intended randomness.
Even when she does get stuck, eventually one of the men she infects will join the crowd, and a few others will catch it from him, giving the Ether execution squad something to do.
Note there’s another woman who looks more or less identical to Charlotte. Charlotte begins in the foyer and doesn’t move. The other woman starts at the front gate and attends the meeting. ↩︎
I gotta say, I’m very impressed with Milla Jovovich’s voice acting in this mission. She REALLY gets into the character and is having fun with it. Plus various misc. lines she has for distractions and such, that’s cool too.
I think a line she says when talking about the Nightshade virus to one of her cult friends: “I mean, Deveraux Virus? […] Too many V’s…” is a nod at her own name.
Strange her face model is completely different in-game vs. promos… I guess it’s some legal/financial block that prevented it in-game? Either she doesn’t want her actual face (to be murdered) in-game, or IOI couldn’t secure likeness rights to live on in the DLC permanently, idk…
It looks like her from certain angles. I think they just botched it. Dead on it looks like her but the. The target photo is taken from an angle where it looks almost nothing like her.
Just awkwardness with the Glacier Engine (remember WOA is 10 years old) and the model they opted to use. Celebrities when these type of collaborations part of the deal is the usage of their likeness. It’s one thing for them to voice act but having the face tied to voice is the complete package.
I think with the case of this target it’s especially noticeable that the execution is…. jarring since the CG version is of higher quality in terms of likeness. But the answer is far easier and not tied to legal nuances.
WOA models as is have been very stiff… and in the case of this target they at some point decided to give her features closer to Alice in the resident evil movies rather than what we saw pre release.
If you KO this lady and hide her. The virus won’t spread to downstairs to anyone.
A total of 4 NPC plus 2 bodyguards needs to be KO and hide - for no spreading of virus and no bodyguard of this ET.
The lady above (very important), a strolling guard on 1st floor, Gregory and the Mansion Staff lady in the Library. The 2 bodyguards are in the library guarding 1st and ground floor.
Found a small but decent time skip in the main Mission Story. If you plant a proximity Semtex on the window as Lilith is giving her monologue, she’ll stop talking once it explodes and skip ahead to leaving to head back upstairs. Even though she hasn’t injected herself.
She’ll still be infected by the time you reach the main areas again. But cuts out quite a bit of time doing nothing.
You could also emetic her before you head down to the lab. She will say one or two lines to H.E.R.B. before immediately leaving. You do lose some time waiting in the elevator for her to finish puking, but it skips almost the entire villain monologue.
I was wondering, I was able to do the mission story where she follows you around, but I dont know how you are supposed to discover it naturally in game. I only found out through the forum, but never found anything that reveals that opportunity. Does anyone know?
