This is firmly on my radar and will be addressed in the relatively near future, but for the sake of expectations, it won’t be right away.
We wanted to open them up again to give everyone a chance to play them again, for various reasons. Primarily, it’s a side-by-side goal with ET Arcade that Elusive Targets are more accessible to players. The positives of having them available again for players who failed/completed them the first time, greatly outweighs the negatives of players who feel compelled to play them again if they don’t want to. That’s why we made that call.
It’s also gives more opportunity to unlock the “Complete X Elusive Targets” challenges.
Speaking of challenges, are the #2 missions linked to the original challenges (the “Eliminate [target]” and SA ones), or do they have their own duplicate challenges?
@Travis_IOI, @Clemens_IOI, is Elusive Target Arcade mode at least being considered as a vehicle to allow the individual Elusive Targets to be permanently playable at some point in the future, and is the #2 roster of ETs being used to fill in the gap in the meantime while that is being looked into?
Finally going to unlock the Casual Undercover suit, been waiting for a 15th ET since November 12 (since I started playing 3 after The Deceivers and Stowaway were ran through)
Was gonna post the same thing here. The wait’s been too long. Funny thing is I don’t even like the look of that suit but that “14/15” has simply been bugging me. Died in The Entertainer and The Liability like an idiot.
Thank you for the response, but I still cannot see why new and existing players would not be better served by reactivated ETs (similar to those we saw in December/January) as opposed to ‘Year 2 Editions’.
Those who previously failed or missed the ETs could have them reactivated. Meanwhile those who already completed them successfully could have their existing achievement maintained. Instead, we have to repeat the same process again just to avoid a FAILED mark in our ET menus.
This is exactly why many of us hoped that ET Arcade would serve as a much more fundamental overhaul of the Elusive Target system. As it stands, people are still going to miss out on ET rewards with these Year 2 Editions. A definitive ET Arcade could have reworked these rewards into a new, permanent game mode.
Poll ball would be nice.
Because I see only it on a picture which we don’t have in our gear.
But no, I don’t think they will attach an unlock. Though I won’t mind
I think a better and less confusing way to do this would have been to give us an option to play Elusive Target Arcades without those very controversial complications that limit creativity and actually allow us to get suit unlocks from them as well. (and maybe ditching the escalation format too and add video briefings to them)
Can someone please remind me: if I manipulate the snipers to take this bad boy out, do I retain SA and does the kill get counted as an accident?
Last time, I distracted all onlookers and knocked him into the pool outside the theatre. Wanna try something different, but want to avoid resetting my network connection if I lose them coveted green guns
Finally got to kill him with a Silent Assassin rating this time around. Was pretty easy as soon as I found out about him having his own Van with a case file inside that has him wander around alone when you give it to one of the women.
I think what they meant in the tweet was that the challenges for killing the Heartbreaker and killing the Heartbreaker Silent Assassin are different from the ones in the original ET. So, even if you unlocked both of those challenges in the first run, you can still unlock them again in The Heartbreaker #2
