I would say just adding challenging moment instead of limiting the time the target is available.
To balance things
Also : do we know that the conditions will be mandatory ?
They could be optional and just prevent a five star rating / some challenges completions / rewards.
Like the optional conditions already are in some ETs (the Surgeons and their poison eliminations, the Collector and the painting…).
Since we will be restricted to one try every 12 hours, it will still be an insensitive, without taking away the freedom in the long run once they were done and registered in the challenge tab once.
It could be that for some ET accidents will be rewarded, and for some others an items will be needed to be picked up (maybe the rest of the Sisal Bardy paintings).
Right now, I don’t know what to think about it. The concept sound promising, but I’m waiting to prove it by myself before judging.
From what I heared in these days, it sound like we are somehow a bit limited about playing those ETs, but who know, maybe it could be for the better if it’s well balanced.
We’ll see in the next two days.
Complications I think will justify if this will flop or not because no one wants to play a mission which is intended to be a small mission to then have restrictions and complications where it restricts how you kill or what you wear to kill I think for me and personally I’d be very disappointed if this because the case
I like the concept, I always thought if ET’s are replayable anytime, it will show how not very good they are, like Special Assignments, so this is a nice balance of them not being played over and over and giving it a new challenge, having to complete 3 without failing. if it was me i’d take it a step further and disable the restart mission option in the pause menu, I hope you can’t anyway
I’m with you here. And it’s why I hope we will have not complications to the target but optional objectives to the mission like some other ETs already have. I really hope for that, and genuinely think it would be the best approach.
One of the main reason I’m excited for the Arcade is to play the ETs in ways that I would have absolutely refused to even consider in their normal runs.
The largest one is Sniper Assassin : it’s always a good run to find a good position (in a way that doesn’t feel cheesy / make sense in universe), but it’s not fun to play it and retain Silent Assassin most of the time. So I would never have played it in the normal ETs. But now…
I hope I can have my fun with the Liability from the Radio Tower in Berlin without having an automatic fail because of some “hide the body” complications.
I am kind of curious if we’re going to get more normal escalations from now on.
Because this might be the way that they give us exhalations from now on. And for Far that I think it might be better because the best escalations and normal is the one with the change of the map.
If they ultimately end up releasing the ETs themselves for perpetual playing opportunities, we retroactively won’t care so much about the changes made in ETA, is suspect.
I dunno, right now it feels to me like it´s gonna be the sort of conditions that are present in escalations or (featured) contracts. But we´ll see tomorrow how it turns out…
I completely agree that optional objectives would be the best way to go. “Do this to get a better rating” rather than “Don´t do this or you insta-fail”. It´s precisely why I don´t really enjoy those other modes. Like you say, I wanna be finally able to play ETs in a way I wouldn´t normally dare in the normal runs.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on what the new unlockables could be? I’m leaning towards new suits but as always I’m hoping for some items/weapons that have new uses. Either way I’m looking forward to what the ET arcade will bring to the table.
Was hoping they’d drop the update today so we could install ready for tomorrows launch.
I’m just hoping for a HWK21 with a suppressor but no extended magazine, like the ones you find in-game. The one already available looks weird with the extended magazine.
Beyond that, I just want the electrocution phone back.
The first three Elusive contracts will each be three Elusive Targets from one game (2016 - 2 - III).
If we have the return of Mark Faba for the Hitman 2 contract, I would guess lil flashy and the explosive pen.
Even without him, those items will almost certainly be rewards one day or the other.
I would also expect the location suits.
As for original unlocks, like @Heisenberg I wishe for some common in-level firearms. Even if personnaly it would be the Hackl 9S that I want to see become an unlock.
Or as always for me : a supressed striker.
I’m also curious to see tomorrow what the new challenges will be. Are we going to see specific challenges for each targets (up to multiple specific method like the story targets) ? Or will it be general challenges for the game mode (like the featured contract ones) ?
I am looking forward to this new mode, although - I am not all-out positives. If this mode brings new, exciting rewards however…
I know, I know. Rewards shouldn’t be the main motivation to do it - however I have never been a huge fan of the escalation format/mode. Some I still do, because the rewards are fire!
It would be great if The Undying Returned Returned, but I’m thinking those ETs stay with H2 much like Gary Busey in H1. Contracts through WBIE blah blah.
The ET Arcade rewards will probably have some new stuff, but might also reward currently unavailable ET unlocks. Unless they go really out of their way and make some actual new ETs on H2 maps.
Yeah I like the look of the HWK21 covert as well if that’s the one you’re referring to, looks very slick.
@LandirtHome whilst I appreciate the players who are missing these rewards will really want them I’m hoping for some brand new unlocks.
Same with the suits hopefully they give us some new ones to work towards, the ones from H1 are now 7 years old and have been circulating since then.
Do we think we’ll get a road map in conjunction with the ET release?
Probably, since it’s not just the release of the ETA, but also the official start of the Year 2 era, and the timeframe for the previous roadmap ends today. So to outline every thing coming over the next month or two, we’ll probably get a roadmap, and I suspect freelancer won’t be on it, but will probably be part of the next one.
So what do you think? Around 16-17 danish time?
Sorry, drawing a blank on what you mean on that.
Roadmap, it should be today, right? After the last ET of the last roadmap is done…?
