Elusive Target Arcade

Maybe this will clear up my point: If I say I like beets and in every conversation we have I say I like beets, the minute YOU say “I know for a fact he like beets” you’re wrong. Because I actually hate them. It’s different if you say “IMO” or “I think” or “I believe”. But “for a fact”!? No. Not unless you can read minds, which is humanly impossible. I get ioi might not publicly say they hate speedrunning or give off that vibe to players face-to-face/in online communications, but I’m saying the decisions they make in-game say otherwise. And that’s my opinion. Not a fact.

Heyo, Frote! Remember you suggesting similar idea for the challenge packs (make some actually interesting and fun challenges with rewards tied directly to them and which would actually teach players some cool skills), shame it wasn’t heard by IOI back in a day

???

It’s not wrong to make a logical assumption on something. It may not be true, but when there’s been clear evidence from you yourself that you say you “like beets”, don’t fault the person for your own lies.

IOI is not lying about liking speedrunners or faking a relationship with them.
If they would, I feel they’d have messed up that relationship long before now.

Nope. Never said “I know for a fact” about anything I’ve posted, because that would be impossible. It’s all opinion.

Not really. The Hitman leaderboard (like all game leaderboards for that matter) are put in place to take advantage of our competitive nature (which hopefully for the developers means we play more). Has nothing to do with speedrunning. The “fastest” time on a contract with ALL casual players could be 1 hour. And in that case, that slowpoke would have the most points and reap the same reward as someone doing it in 6 seconds. Correct? Also, people speedrun games that don’t even have a leaderboard. So I don’t think the two go hand in hand.

Alright, so them watching speedruns and saying they are awesome in excitement doesn’t matter, they simply faked the emotions and compliments.

Them having a different vision/other priorities does not equal them hating speedrunning. Why would they actively help promote our speedrunning events and even having offered prizes if they would hate that playstyle?

They promote it all the time, on their live stream, on their website, two featured contract batches.

Eh, what? I don’t exactly follow your logic here. How exactly is he lying when he says, he knows for a fact that you like beets, after you said it in a conversation?

The Fact that you said it in a conversation is the needed Fact to claim he knows it for a fact. The only Person lying here would be you, while he would just tell something untruthful, which is not the same as lying, as it didn’t happen out of any malicious intend, just a false fact, given to him by you.

I actually disagree: the detonation delay is an issue both for speedrunners and people who play slower was well, because it doesn’t affect just detonations but lenghty story opportunities as well. For example, this issue happens with calling Dallia as Helmut in Paris, you cannot open doors until the call is over . You can even lock yourself in a room during that duration lol

So If I say in conversation with someone that I’ve found a cure for cancer, and then that person says they “know for a fact” I found a cure for cancer, that magically becomes a “fact” and is indisputable!? Again, point was it’s not a fact. Just his opinion about ioi. Which is cool.

Don’t worry, he only said it. Didn’t really mean it :stuck_out_tongue:

Look,

am i unhappy with certain decisions/changes they made? Yes. Does their vision/priorities/changes for the game fully allign with speedrunning? No.

But that doesn’t mean they hate the playstyle. It simply doesn’t stroke with all their actions outside game mechanical ones, namely: inviting speedrunners over to receive feedback on mechanics, promoting speedrunning tournaments, asking to showcase speedruns and being excited while watching them, keeping in touch, provide prizes for speedrun competitions, or asking us twice now for a featured contract batch.

So yes, based on the above i “know for a fact” that they dont hate speedrunning. They simply made gameplay decisions that wasn’t in the best interest for the runners.

So you honestly can’t see a scenario where a company thinks one thing internally/privately but conveys the opposite publicly!? Ok. :joy:

frote7 has given conclusive evidence to show that they dont hate speedrunning or speedrunners in the slightest. but lets say they did, what the hell would they gain from it as a company, absolutely nothing. they have no reason to hate speedrunners at all.

It kinda adds up though.

Why would they do all of the above if they actually hated the playstyle? Why actively help promoting the playstyle, and provide prizes and everything else i mentioned. Why when at 1 am outside in a hotel garden would they ask to show them some speedruns on a phone, and acting all excited while watching them,

if they actually hated it.

It just does not compute

I love speedrunners i don’t mind speedrunners cause they get world records on the leadboards

The Black Hat complication… FINISH the Mission in 2 minutes after being caught on camera. :racehorse: :poop:

Not delete evidence within 2 minutes? I had to wonder if that’s what IO really meant. Or do they just mean kill the target? Why would…? That doesn’t make sense. Surely not kill the guy and get to an exit. Because isn’t the mission finished when you exit? :confounded:

Yeah I’m seeing a similarity to another commenter’s opinion that IOI secretly wants Hitman 3 to fail/hates HITMAN so they can continue working on their other projects.

If they hated HITMAN
Or even if they hated speedrunners

The answer is the same: they wouldn’t continue to interact and create content for it.
There’s no agenda here and anything speculated about it, is literally just speculation. But so far there’s plenty of evidence that they’re perfectly fine interacting with and developing a good relationship with the speerunning community.

??? No clue who wrote that but that makes zero sense. To date Hitman is ioi’s only (or at least their main) source of revenue. Why the hell would they purposely try to fuck that up!? My tinfoil hat theory is smaller.

You have to gain something to hate something!?

So would you guys prefer suits or item reskins as unlocks?

Assuming IOI doesn’t hate inventories of course.

 All the unreleased MK III reskins could work as unlocks. I like the new Kruger 2-2 Dark.

The elusive target arcade was designed for the more experienced Hitman player.

If the new content is a miss for the target audience it was designed for, I don’t know why Travis / Clemens didn’t get hands-on input from players like you, allowing a sample of hard-core Hitman player to sample and beta test the new content before launch…

There are a lot more hard-core Hitman players than there are employees at IOI, and many players have spent more time playing Hitman than all the QA testers at IOI combined.

It seems to me that the best way to please your fanbase and ensure that the content pleases its intended audience is to get their input in the decision making of new content before release.
