Elusive Target Arcade

That was the first and last time I used a propane flask to kill a target to get an SA rank. It felt so cheap. Looking forward to Havefoerk’s return myself. I have a score to settle with that elusive target.

Oh yeah, Havefoerk, the Fixer. I hope he’s coming; I’ve got a knife ready for that shade-wearing asshole. He was the first ET I ever screwed up. And not because of the whole diamonds courier thing, oh-ho-ho, nosiree, nothing so simple.

I fucked up on him because I was going to stick him with a lethal syringe in that room that lets you drop the moose in the embassy, but he decided to move at just the right second, so that I didn’t stick him with the needle; I punched him in the face and he saw it before being knocked out. And this was on H1; that whole thing in keeping SA if the target sees you so long as you kill the target before they tell anybody, that wasn’t a thing yet, so even though I snapped his neck, I lost SA status. I couldn’t restart either because I already had the diamonds, so it was sink or swim.

And when he was rereleased, I forgot that you have to wait for the courier to get the diamonds before you knock him out!

So the Fixer is personal for me, and this time he doesn’t get a soft little death from lethal injection. I’m gonna use the Sieker to send him to the restroom and once he’s done puking and turns around, I’m gonna take the concealed knife and stab him in the fucking heart, for all the grief he’s given me. I’m even gonna shout the reshuffled quote as uttered by Patrick Stuart’s Captain Ahab from USA’s Moby Dick miniseries when I do it:

“From the heart of Hell, I stab at thee!”

You can drop the moose on him? Son of a bitch. I messed up because of the whole diamonds thing.

Nah man, you got to go for the throat slice. A much more painful way to go. That floral shirt gonna look pretty in red boyeee. I don’t think many people plan on a quick kill regarding him. Here’s hoping IO don’t make the the complication something utterly balls-deep in bullshit town.

No, you don’t drop the moose on Havefoerk, you drop it on Strandberg during normal gameplay. But, the room where you push the button to do so is where I lured him to stick him with the needle the first time I tried.

Some might think this counts as cheating since I’m using a mod (ToD change). But I like it and yeah… It does make it way easier. But it’s not impossible to do this in the normal (ToD) setting. The chain is harder to see though.

What about emetics to move them away?

The Night vibe really adds a flair of style to that kill. Need to give that mod a try.

Too temporary. By the time that fucking cardinal is in place for me to drop the bell, they’ll be back in the place they were on the path I used to get into the church, which is the same path I would need to get back out. I need to tranquilize at least two, possibly three guards in spots where they won’t be found without calling attention to them, in order to get up there and wait long enough for the cardinal to walk under the bell. And for that, I need to have no limitations on the number of pacifications allowed.

Ah I see. I thought there might have been a secret way to lure him under the moose.

You probably can with the gun lure method, but the problem is that you can’t drop the moose on him soon enough befor he leaves. Unless you can knock him out and leave him under it without anyone seeing him, step back and shoot the moose wires while he’s standing under it, or set off a remote explosive in the room that pushes the button for you, he’ll be out of the way before you can drop it.

Breaching charge on the winch.

Is it a winch though, or is it a button? I haven’t looked at it in a looong time. If it’s a button, hope for the best on that. If a winch, yeah, breaching charge. I did mention that as a possibility, although I was picturing a button.

There’s a pipe that goes down into the church garden from the tower, then you can just drop down back to the harbour from the garden

Easy to be spotted; there’s a camera there, a patrolling guard and at least one worker there at all times. And even ignoring that, I still have to use that path to the side of that very spot to get back to the front, and if I simply used emetics on the two guards patrolling the side door there, they’ll be back by then and spot me coming back that way.

To do it how I want to do it, I need more than 1 pacification allowed.

It’s definitely a winch. There is a button for the light that (after shooting or sabotaging it with a screwdriver) Klaus touches the handrail for a ‘Set it and Forget it’ easy kill. /fyi

A nice little breeching charge on the moose’s winch is always a nice way to go.

I dunno, I think the new ETA scheme is the worst of both worlds: you still can’t freeplay ETs, plus every single escalation has lost its identity since it now has only one generic complication.

At least I could respect how devious the old system could be. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Thats the worst thing that if you want to play for example “the fugitive” you need to finish 3 escalation levels before and then play it
I think they need to do after you finish the ETA once, you can play them in seperate

Speaking of “The Fugitive”, this contract should’ve had a “no civilian elimination” complication to make the trial and error approach regarding the three possible targets too risky, thereby encouraging the player to always first go to the Director’s office instead.
