Elusive Target Arcade

Do you think at some point IOI will release all ETs individually ? This way, if we want to do a target that is the last level of an arcade contract, we can play it without doing the whole contract. What do you think ?

Hopefully. It’s what the community originally asked for and IMO what we still want.

They don’t have to get rid of the arcade either, just make all (applicable) ET’s available to play individually in the menu tab that currently exists in the game (right now that tab just lists them for reference).

Everyone will be happy.

Not to mention, the existence of Arcade mode means that, at least within Arcade mode, ETs can be made permanently available. So even if they can’t turn on the ETs in the usual way, all they’d have to do was create Arcade contracts with only a single ET and no added complications to achieve the desired effect.

Then, of course, the only true issue remaining would be arranging offline play for the entire game, but I think that’s the final holy grail they’ll throw at us.

Depending on how Freelancer works out, having ETs playable with the existing suit rewards (plus new ones) could work quite well. Could even have a certain buy-in to play them to add to the money mechanic so it isn’t just buy items and decorate the home. (Still struggling what the home can be used for gameplay wise, outside of money sink)

Though given how old all existing ETs are, they would need to add new ones across the trilogy which isn’t likely. Though perhaps a few reworks of existing ones?

It would also keep ET Arcade as its own thing and not make redundant either for replays.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. This seems to be the compromise between their original stance of them never being replayable and people wanting them to be.

I’d be surprised if we ever get the original missions outside of the Arcade.

The new ETAs are live.

  • The Faux Pas : accident elimination only
    • The Rage
    • The Liability
    • The Procurers
  • The Entrepreneurs : additional enforcers
    • The Censor
    • The Politician
    • The Appraiser
  • The Cliches : restricted loadout
    • The Pharmacist
    • The Chameleon
    • The Deceivers

Special mention to the Faux Pas

I remember that at the very start of the ETA, both @TheChicken and I, amongst other gave the return of “why not restricting only the elimination method, force a certain run by the players they wouldn’t take usually, that would be interesting and differentiate the different contracts.”

So quite happy by it.

But I have to ask : sniper elimination counting as SA contract restriction, when ?

The Pharmacist finally comes back after like 4 years and they decide to put a restricted loadout on her mission :pensive:

Like I don’t mind restricted loadouts but please add restrictions like that to ETs we had already done at least once in Hitman 3.

This could indicate a soon release and IO wants to limit our practice runs.

Omfg, again with the restricted goddamn loadouts?! And for the Pharmacist and Deceivers, who we’ve been waiting on? This is the absolute worst restriction, since you can’t even pick your suit. Seriously, IOI, do not use this restriction again.

You’re probably right, I’m just petty cause I played it safe and carbombed her in 2016 which was kinda boring, and now that she’s back after 4+ years just to not be allowed to bring anything kinda bothers me.

I can probably wait until we get an ETA with her without the loadout.

Edit: now that I’m thinking about it, that’s probably why they put that restriction in the first place.

I know it’s annoying, but I must say I enjoyed the previous ETA batch with this same restriction (the one from H2 with the Censor), it force the player to approach differently from this mission.

Sure, Colorado would be though, but at last you can still change disguise, and there are several free of them of each map included in this batch.

Just imagine if they continued with the initial concept of ETA, and you get additional restrictions on every level : could you imagine a set of limited loadout + no disguise change+ no ko+hide all bodies + no recording?!? Those would be some real rage quitting shit!

The what now? This is NOT acceptable!

I know, right! They keep bringing in ETs that I’ve been waiting for because I want to use a particular item that I have to bring from outside the map, and they keep releasing them with restricted loadout. They better not do this shit with the Fixer, but I won’t be surprised.

Great another batch of restricted load outs RESTRICTING my playstyle! Definitely what I wanted especially after last time

Seriously this is bs I’ve been playing the pharmacist for about two hours now and there is no fun kills what so ever however there could’ve been if we were allowed a load out to bring in stuff such a tasers, syringes, bombs, sniper rifles hell even a suit would be great

Not to mention either io doesn’t know how to spell or don’t know her name but she is now called Nina even though she was Nila :man_facepalming:

Once again restricting the game at it’s full potential

BTW, did anyone here unlocked the fabulous Hello Kitty sniper? I’m sure this is the reason we were waiting these new ETA batches.

Why can’t we even pick our suit for restricted loadout? like it makes a difference

Unfortunate that the Clichés ET Arcade complication is a restricted loadout. I joined the HITMAN game community back in 2017 and I was halfway through HITMAN 2016’s lifecycle which meant I had missed the original runs of the Pharmacist. Hopefully we’ll get an Arcade with her without that restriction next time.

Entrepreneurs and Faux Pas should be doable enough for me though. Just thinking how on earth I’m going to tackle the Pharmacist though as I’m going in the mission blind ahaha
