Elusive Target Arcade

My guess to make this happen, game should be completely offline.
I doubt this mode will be playable offline

I’m probably gonna join #TeamNoRestarts with this mode.

I’ve nearly always restarted an ET as much as I can – either to get SA or just to get out of a near-death situation – but with this, given the very forgiving penalty I’m willing to see how long I’ll last on one single attempt.

I’ll at least have the knowledge that I can try again 12 hours later, instead of the content being locked until the sun burns out.

Just when I thought Elusive Targets were tense enough.

This is going to set my stress levels to the max haha :joy:

It is very interesting how this will be and I can see the Revolutionary and Appraiser there as well and if you look really close you can see a third blur mission where I think could be the serial killer and the undying?

This makes me think of the Tower mode in Mortal Kombat. Play as far as you can without dying. Neat. I look forward to seeing what the rewards are. :+1:

Maybe I didn’t understand or they didn’t mentioned it, but what if I manage to kill the three ETs? Am I able to kill them again than or is it like now, when I managed to kill an ET I can’t do it again?

They haven’t specifically said it, but I would imagine that as long as you haven’t failed it in the last 12 hours you’ll be able to reset the trial like you can for escalations and start again.

I hope this gets all the previous elusives into the game outside of the celebrity ones they may not be able to use.

From the way I understood it, they are a permanent addition, meaning you can play them as many times as you want. Only limitation to that being the (12h?) lockout if you fail.

Agreed.

What I’m wondering about is if we have to go through the set of targets in one go, or can we “pause” between levels like in escalations.

Additionally, I´m not sure how I feel about the “additional complications”. Sounds way too much like the shit they pull for escalations and FCs, which I absolutely hate…

Interesting stuff. As someone firmly on the “always available, unlimited retries”, I guess I understand the attempts at compromise here. 12 hour restarts sounds reasonable, doesn’t bother me. The new format sounds interesting. Interesting way to make old ETs fresh again. Guess it depends on what the extra complications are I suppose. I am curious that if each ET trial has 3 targets, do we have to do the targets in a specific order or could we do the ETs in any order we want? I think it would be a lot nicer if we could decide the order of ETs within a trial.

I feel alot happier with this. I mean, I’d still prefer just the ability to play any ET and fail infinitely, but it seems like a nice compromise, as long as these extra complications aren’t stupid like landmines. I think the interesting aspect of this is what interesting complications you can add. I know the current formula they’ve shown is “3 ETs in a row + complications”, but I hope they do some weirder modifications. To me, the obvious one would be shoving all the Paris and Sapienza ETs (or at least as many as possible) into a single map and seeing a player trying to achieve that.

This would lock more casual Players out of Mode though. Also it would quickly become an unfunny grind of the easiest SA Targets.

Anyway, enough quotes. Looking forward to this Mode and wonder if it’d be possible to mod it like doing that with my ET Mods. (I also plan on doing more when it becomes more possible to add NPCs to Maps and such.)

Obviously how ETs were supposed to be a one-time only thing. As if plans never change, or companies never accommodate their player base or listen to their requests. If they’re not “lying” then they’re not listening. Then some people would gripe about that.

in that case, they “lied” the minute they started re-doing ets, the scoundrels!

Seriously, what is the deal with this place having folks become members who almost never post, have the default letter avatars, some vague, meaningless username that seems like it was picked out of a hat of options, and the only times they ever pipe up are to whine in ill-defined ways? Are they bots, or just jerks?
