So we are now two days away from the Elusive Target Galore scheduled to start on December 22. I have not seen any information from IOI on what this is, how it will work, or what the content will be. I’m still assuming that it’s going to be similiar to last year where they reran all the Year 2 Elusive Targets. Anyone have any other info?
I’m hoping they rerun the year 1 ETs so steam players actually get to play them for the sake of completion but I get the feeling it could just be the year 2 ETs again and I’m hoping they add the Fixer because for some reason he still isn’t in this game
After resetting my progress, I hope they at least rerun enough to get all the suits re-unlocked. At the very least with The Drop done I have 2 of the 17 ET suits obtained.
I was gonna say I’m surprised they still haven’t announced when and which ETs will be reactivated but then I remembered the theme of the Winter Roadmap is doing stuff without announcing the details beforehand
Seems like with Clemens gone there is nobody to do roadmaps, announce(ment)s and so on.
Travis seems doing other jobs.
Of course it’s obvious that HITMAN 3 life cycle is close to end, but with things going for last several months it’s a bit suprising how developers put the support of the game on the upper shelf.
When I first saw ET Galore, I thought it will be something like permanent ET addition to the game (eventually they need to do that in my opinion when the support of the game is officially ended). But to somehow name simple rerun of the ETs is something intriguing (should be), but knowing IOI, I wouldn’t have expected something extraordinary.
I want to be mistaken though
I would think we will hear about it tomorrow. They tend to announce things on Thursdays (normally roadmaps), so I’d say that is the highest chance.
I’m just hoping we have a cool final build up to the last bit of content/roadmap before IOI close off with Hitman WOA. I’m still holding out hope for Year 4 content with what IOI were teasing a few months ago. I know this might have changed now Clemens has moved on, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed
Hopefully Freelancer gets a few final fixes it needs as well before IOI finish up.
On the 2023 timeline, which was posted on their website alongside the Spring Roadmap, they said this:
We’re just getting started, look forward to more Year 3 versions of Elusive Targets, as well as a chance to catch up on any Years 2 targets you may have missed.
Assuming that the plans haven’t changed at all, its just a series of mass-reactivations from Year 2 for newer players that joined during Y3 or those that missed some along the way.
I am hoping they’ll decide to sprinkle in some activations of ETs that have never been live in H3/WoA so that way there is also something for the loyal players that have been consistently coming back week after week since launch in January 2021 - otherwise these players get absolutely nothing from the Galore.
That’s my biggest worry. I have completed all of the Elusive Targets for the year so if it’s just a bunch of second chances at targets players have missed, I guess I’ll just sit tight until February and see what/if they release in Spring…
Pretty sure that’s exactly what it’s gonna be… Last year was the same thing, no?
Last year didn’t have any reactivations over the Christmas period, instead we had quite a packed Winter 2022 Roadmap.
2021 had all the H3 ETs reactivated over the time period though (Roadmap).
This. This this this. If the Y2 ETs can be re-run for the umpteenth time, then why not be player-friendly and give the Y1 ETs their first ever re-run too while you’re at it?
Looks like they’re reactivating all the Year 3 targets except The Drop.
I currently see The Heartbreaker Year 3 in the Live tab with a “Previously Eliminated” annotation, and going to the Career tab → Elusive Targets, all the other Year 3s except The Drop are also showing “Previously Eliminated” rather than “Eliminated”.
Here’s the schedule in case you’re wondering (all Year 3 versions of the ETs):
- The Stowaway
- The Gunrunner
- The Liability
- The Revolutionary
- The Deceivers
- The Rage
- The Serial Killer
- The Forger
- The Collector
- The Broker
- The Heartbreaker
are all scheduled to release at the same time tomorrow (in about 21 hours).
- The Food Critic
- The Badboy
- The Entertainer
- The Surgeons
- The Ascensionist
- The Chameleon
- The Politician
- The Iconoclast
- The Appraiser
- The Ex-Dictator
- The Procurers
are all scheduled to release in 28 days (which puts their release on January 19).
lel. hitmanstat.us wasn’t prepared for so many ETs to be live at once:
So if we’ve already eliminated these targets throughout the course of the year in their original release windows, there really isn’t any thing going on for the next couple months then. Disappointing, but there’s still Freelancer to tide us over I guess.
Damn, so nothing for me to do then in this game when it comes to potential ETs again! Ah well, I’m busy working Christmas anyways…sad laughter…
It’s a shame because for the players who missed out on Year 1/Year 2 iterations, they should really be given a chance!
I was thinking pretty much the exact same thing. Kinda a shame since I was hoping to do the two Y2 ETs I skipped, but I cannot say I’m that much upset. Though it’s kinda disappointing since that means there’s going to be a 2 month window (Dec 7 - Feb 12) of literally nothing for players who already own the full game and done Y3 ETs, unless IOI pulls some surprise announcement. Guess my WoA semi-hiatus continues.
Or they could just release all ETs to be playable at any time as we’ve all been asking for since at least 2017 and have known they could do since 2022.
I guess it’s possible that at the end of this Galore thing they’ll just make them permanent, but we don’t know yet.
They are replayable via ETA; and adding increasingly specific conditions to make sure that the game mode doesn’t count as a solution doesn’t help. You may not like the solution they came up with, but it nonetheless is a solution. And The Fixer (the only one that’s missing that isn’t behind expensive red tape) is not one people want to return.
I want them replayable in the form they’re being presented as here in the future too, but to say they’re not fully replayable whenever is kind of ignoring ETA exists.
Also, we’ve known they can release them whenever since 2017 as they’re the ones in control of the server. That’s not recent, nor groundbreaking news, that took much time to figure out.
