But an unnecessary thing, just as making the Decievers into the Decievers was unnecessary and just a gimmick. Being able to properly complete the Fixer in its original format is part of the reason why those of us who want him back do so, so that we can finally get it right.
Since the spring roadmap said “Year 2 Elusive Targets”, I thought it would be a reactivation of the Year 1 and 2 targets, but I was disappointed, in my opinion, because only Year 3 actually came.
If they were going to reactivate the targets, I would have liked to see them reactivate the 1st year Elusive targets that were not available in the Steam version.
Frankly, I don’t find the “one time only” factor that interesting, so even if it is sold as paid DLC, I hope it will always be playable before the final HITMAN update.
So, after all this fuss, Galore turned up a simple reactivation.
It would’ve been fun if it would be possible to play them again.
But for those who already played/failed them it’s only one hope left - all those Year 1 ETs are reactivated for Steam players as well. Because seeing Missed is not that fun
Honestly unsure why you expected anything else. It was the exact same thing the last time they did this, and they stated in their first 2023 roadmap that it’d be reactivations of previous ETs, just like last time.
But yeah, a clean slate event would be nice for those of us who missed earlier ETs or failed them due to bugs and glitches that were later fixed.
I…didn’t. In fact, I made it clear in the following sentence that I was referring to “you” in the collective sense (as in, the userbase, not you specifically). Admittedly, it’s my fault for not putting that part earlier in the paragraph, but I was not trying to put words in your mouth, let me be clear there.
I am merely speaking from experience from being in one too many fandoms. You get a feeling for the cycle of these things.
Because this round of reacrivations has its own name and it’s kind of a hint on something “out of bounds”. And this “out of bounds” seems just bunch of targets active at the same time and that’s it
Reactivations have always worked this way, ever since IO first started doing them way back in 2017. They’re only available to play if you didn’t already complete/fail them.
Not sure why you expected this time to be different tbh.
Probably just because they’ve always done it this way and maybe they’d change it up and make it available again for everyone, completed/failed or not, without having to relabel it by another year.
They bring it on themselves, frankly. When they released the roadmap they were cryptic. The only thing we “knew” was that an event called “Elusive Target Galore” was coming and that it would be running for two months. The only other detail we had was that more info would be coming soon.
IOI could have said back then that they would be reactivating previous targets. They could have said that they were going to release previously released targets. They could have included at least some information about what this event was going to consist of but they didn’t. They chose to stay silent about what the event was going to be.
Should we have expected more than just reactivations? Probably not but IOI’s silence on it, as always, suggested it could be more than just reactivated targets.
Which is more than reasonable. The timeline was tentative, and explicitly subject to change from the start. (and I’m more saddened by the absence of the teased escalation).
The Warlord is playable in the ETA, so there is also no real content loss.
Yeah it was clearly stated to be subject to change, but they never explained why things changed along the way. Hence my use of “for some reason” as the reason is not known to us.
Also, how would The Drop releasing in October have any impact on why The Warlord didn’t release in December as per the timeline?
