First Impressions and Small Details

I gotta say, the game turned out way better than I thought it would. They really did set a new standard of quality for the level design. Music and sound are also top notch. Even the plot, while still too dramatic and personal for my taste, was decent, and I honestly was able to enjoyed it for what it was.
My only real complaint with the game and the trilogy is the whole james bond/mission impossible movie vibe io went for. It translates into almost every aspect of the game replacing old hitman feel completely. One element that suffers the most from it is the soundtrack. Don’t get me wrong, Niels Bie did a great job composing for the new games and I actually still listen to some of his tracks outside of Hitman, I just find Jesper Kyd’s music to be more atmospheric and more fitting to the hitman series.

Please blur spoilers.

Couldn’t say it better. I really didn’t expect such a huge map. The vibe on this map is dark, tense and dangerous. But at the same token playful, colorful and impressively beautiful.

The laser show, the music, the bass and the crowd were my personal highlight when playing through the story missions. Berlin really surprised me the most and it is a true masterpiece in all aspects of a good hitman level. Bravo!

I’ve got to say IO really uped their suits compared to H2. The textures are of much higer quality and the driving gloves are BLACK and not Turdbrown-Black.

I think the rewards you get from playing 2016 are gone if you dont transfer. I dont think it’s going to be possible for me to unlock that briefcase again because I didnt transfer.

I’ve never played 2016, but i’ve played Hitman 2 (and 2016 but Legacy) and got a lot of items. I want to know if those items from Hitman 2 will go into Hitman 3

Note that we moderators are cleaning up behind people here constantly in shifts currently. So sorry if jokes go past me.

But that joke would have worked better if it would look like you know when to use them. Which did not seem to be the case if multiple people told you to blur spoilers. :stuck_out_tongue:

People (including me) did not play the game at all so far and would like to know how people like the game in general without learning the objectives. So yes, blur everything specific the next weeks.

I’m digging the improvements to firearms combat. Handling and recoil is much closer to Absolution’s feel, which is great. Finally, it better reflects 47’s experience and training.

I pretty sure alive and dead body physics now respond much more realistically to 47 pumping more lead into them too.

With regard to Dubai, are the reinforcements Grey may refer to continuously, always existing ones on the map or ones that span in akin to Absolution?

That must be it. Of all the things to import from Absolution… man, I was kind of hoping we would see that cool flip-over and punch take-down again

I found VR to be amazing! Looking around the environments of Hitman 2016 but with fresh eyes, it’s amazing. I enjoyed slapping people around and pushing them aside.

Shooting definitely takes coordination, and I lost a majority of the gunfights.

It is definitely entertaining and I think a SA/SO run will be an accomplishment in itself.

Here’s a gif of me playing in the Ether Lab (I noticed they placed acid containers in the Virus Lab) it’s been too long since I’ve gone through troubles of converting gameplay into gifs… but here are the links for now:

I’ve got to say this game runs miles better than I expected.

Yeah, I remebered how H2 run much worse compared to H1 for me so I expected the same here but it’s actually better than H2.

Just finished my first playthrough, enjoyed the hell out of it.

Spoiler for Mendoza coming up so don’t click unless you’re comfortable with that, but I laughed my ass off when:

I kept on speaking to Diana and Vidal as they wandered around the vineyard, and eventually Vidal took me down to a private meeting where she identified me as 47 and said that you’d have to be stupid not to get the hint when 47 keeps using murder-y language to describe himself (like he has in the rest of the trilogy so far - it’s a brilliant fourth wall break).

And then when 47 says, ā€œWell if you knew that I was an assassin then why did you invite me down here?ā€ and she replies that with her posse of guards it’s a 5-vs-1, to which 47 says something like, ā€œYeah, bad move on your part!ā€ before the guards open up on you. Fucking hilarious!

Map has potential, but as I’ve mentioned before I thought the murder mystery itself was predictable and it felt extremely reminiscent of the Bank. I don’t hate the level, the other levels also simply wowed me more. Haven’t really seen people disliking it, actually.

I love Dartmoor. It’s just my least favorite of the new levels, at least on first playthrough. I could easily change my mind later on.

the closest we’re getting to a Codename 47 REMAKE my friend lmao

Dartmoor was cool, but I admit I kind of rushed it, because I was intrigued to get through the map and see more levels I knew nothing about. I do plan on really diving into the level, as I’m curious at the different possible endings.

I absolutely love Berlin and Mendoza. Dubai looks great too. China is good but I expected something else, as someone said It reminds me of Marrakesh in some areas. I like Dartmoor as a enviroment and I think is good enough but is my least favourite… for now.

Romania… Well, let’s not talk about it.
