Freelancer - Closed Technical Test

I suppose technically you could make symbolic links to the files that are the same to save space that way.

But I’ve got an email that I’m manualy hand
picked for beta test just before global newsletter for sign-up was released. So I guess there is a some criteria. Or anyone who have IOI account linked with game was taken for exclusive invite.

Anyway it would be a hudge waste if they would send an invite to dead accounts. Since this is a beta test it need to have criteria.

I got it and I’m somewhat sure that the e-mail I used doesn’t have an IO account attached to it.

whoa, I got in! Thanks IO!

You need to install it on Steam. If you need the space on your drive you need to uninstall something else.

I’m in.

Uninstalled a number of games… This was while it was still downloading. But now I have 80.4 GB free.

It was ~5’ish hours ago, have almost 16 GB downloaded.

Or should I try copying that one folder from the Epic folder?

PSA: When you’re playing the CTT, the game will have an obnoxiously large logo somewhat in the top right corner on top of any gameplay. Fortunately, you can easily remove this.

In the Retail folder, there is a file called thumbs.dat, open it here, go down to the bottom and change the 1 after “PreReleaseWatermarkEnabled” to a 0. Save/download it and replace the one that you already had in the Retail folder. Once the servers are good to go, you can have a cleaner gameplay experience.

You don’t need H3 on Steam to install the CTT, it’s actually a separate Steam entry from H3 (but you still need a Steam account to enter the code). I have H3 on Steam and I still had to download the 60-ish gbs of the CTT since it’s technically not the same app. It probably won’t affect your Epic H3 installation at all.

You should probably avoid that. There was a thread a couple of days ago about someone having problems to run H3 on Steam after copying the game folder from an Epic installation.

Don’t you have any PC that could run Hitman? Would be a shame to miss out!

I was selected, got excited, and then realized that it’s Steam-only.

PC only, if you have it on Epic than you can still partake in it I believe.

I have H3 on Epic (not Steam), but got the invite/email/code for the test, and am currently downloading it for Steam.

I guess the requirement to be eligible to test was for just having Steam, not necessarily H3 on Steam.

language problem: seems that only English is availbale during the CTT? Is the other localitons work hasn’t been finished yet or it would open when the test begins?

They say I have a missing executable. Fuck is that? I already trried moving it to a different folder and verifying the game files, didn’t work

Just to be sure: You downloaded the whole thing, not just the first part?

I wonder if youtubers are invited too…

Actually, I haven’t added the Betas code. Let me try again…
