That, and with a looser ratings system we can really go wild with some of the mechanics in ways that we previously weren’t able to.

I’m overall looking forward to it, although the missions/maps themselves are the primary point of concern for me, just like you said.

I entered the product code, but there still isn’t an executable to run yet for me…

You need to also enter the second code in the next step.

After several attempts it connected. For me it doesn’t offer anything innovative at all maybe the locations you visit would be interesting if there was the ability to expand by unlocking them somehow I find it monotonous that they take place in the same locations we now know 100% IO needs to think of something new to attract new players and to keep the existing ones interested

Alan seems to have forgotten to add some details

btw I wonder if this Alan is still on the Team… @Clemens_IOI , is he still there? Did he maybe create this image?

I believe Allan was originally Allan Hansen. Who worked on the art in Blood Money (the origin of this then blunder, now cheeky easter egg).

According to both the wiki, and imdb, he does not work at IOI anymore.

I’m tiered and I played bad. Good mode I really love it and I have some inspiration for my next cosplay photo shots.

Watching some footage I’m a little disappointed that the ā€œbread and butterā€ missions pick out NPCs already on the map to be targets instead of having new targets with procedural or randomly picked routes. Oh well, hopefully that’s still fun what with the looser rating system and objectives and syndicate missions

Initial thoughts on the mode after taking down one syndicate:

Still unclear as to when this takes place in regards to the plot of the trilogy. Not a huge deal for me personally, but a lot of discussion has taken place on the form concerning that.

A lot of the items scattered around the maps are now gone. You can’t just grab a convenient wrench, screwdriver, crowbar, etc. You have to buy them. This makes certain items a lot more valuable like lock picks and things since there aren’t readily available alternatives.

The maps are otherwise unchanged from the normal game maps except that the couriers, dealers, suspects, etc. are all moving around and make use of areas that may not have seen a lot of action in the main story mode.

I like the way that they’ve incorporated a lot of the ideas from 7 Deadly Sins into this. The clues you have to find to open the safes, the assassins, the couriers who have Merces on them, etc. all came from initial experiments with the DLC and it is genuinely nice to see that those weren’t just one-off missions. Those mechanics work well in the context of this mode.

I have not left even one map wearing that stupid suit and I still show up back at the safe house wearing it. I did finally open the Wardrobe right at the end of the first syndicate so I can now choose something else to wear, thankfully.

I find myself not wanting to bring Any items into the levels with me for fear of losing them and I haven’t spent any Merces yet for the same reason. It’s not as easy to come by as it could be so it’s worth more, I think.

Well it’s going to take some time to adapt to the levels not having most items at their usual place, but I suppose it probably wouldn’t work balance-wise if they were the same as they are in main missions. Also it’s kinda hard to understand which items you get to keep at the end of the contracts from those you found during the mission (like I left Mendoza with the Bartoli sniper, Jarl’s saber, a Hackl handgun, a few bottles of poison and a scrambler, but I could only keep the handgun and the scrambler).

A couple problems I noticed:

Typo on the main menu, ā€œit’sā€ should be ā€œitsā€

On non-widescreen resolutions (I’m using 1280*1024) the side of the screen gets cut off when you choose weapons in the safehouse or from vendors. It’s not really troublesome in the safehouse, but when buying things from vendors, you can’t see some item prices. It’s a pretty common problem with current videogames sadly

Oh and the mission timer in the safehouse feels kinda weird lol

Otherwise I like it so far.

I enjoy this a lot so far. The only issue I have is that I can’t really switch to controller, so I’m playing with a very painful mix of controller, keyboard and mousepad. I usually play on console, so I have to look up the keys for everything a lot. :joy:
(If anyone knows a solution for this that isn’t git gud, hmu)

Bit disappointing to find out the Kashmirian’s sniper rifle is gone… But I guess it makes sense, nobody would buy the sniper rifle if a freebie is just around the corner.

I agree that it’s hard to understand which items we keep. I didn’t use my stuff from the supply crates I found in my first destination, because I wanted to take them home with me, but oh well…

It seems they should rebalance the money system a bit to give you a flat payment that the optional objectives contribute to

There’s a challenge for 10,000 targets :exploding_head:

Watching footage of this theres stuff that is SO GOOD. The new tools, the safehouse, the money and notoriety system, new starting locations, the challenges. It’s just that the non-syndicate leader missions are standard NPCs thats the flaw that brings it down for me, as a non-player. I’ll have to see how fun it is when I get my hands on it
