Since yesterday, I reached level 83. (Got a bathtub for 47, so he can exhibit himself in his bathroom for the surrounding wildlife!)
Until this point, I’ve been avoiding ‘Eco crimes’ , but I gave it a go; since there’s a trophy to unlock for the basement. I’ve come to the realization, that I hate the ‘make target slip’ objective, with passion.
You see, I forgot to bring a banana with me to whittleton creek, the supplier doesn’t have stuff like this, the crates (4 in total on this run) had none and by default only H2 map has bananas and that is Haven Island. So, It was impossible to complete that objective, leaving me with a tiny pixel, that just won’t reach level 84. Screw that.
Thanks a lot for the replies and the recommendations guys, I kinda felt special there for a moment over the back and forth arguments, I enjoyed it a little bit . I didn’t think about espionage syndicates vs. Assassin, will definitely look into that. I will give it another go.
Whittleton has a rake, may or may not count IDK
As @Heisenberg and @Melusca said, for the time being don’t concentrate on completing a campaign.
Go on the Freeloader topic, and give yourself the objective of bringing back some items.
Not just to build up your arsenal, but because you will have actual gain by playing this way. Which might be enough for you to find some enjoyable play. Positive reinforcement and what not.
You will also get more and more familiar with the gameplay, and then try and push for safes, and courier. To then buy some items.
Personally for my first few campaigns I gave myself the objective to buy at least one common weapon every three missions. With the grander objective to have all of them.
In short : give yourself smaller objectives with rewards you will obtain, a full campaign is a lot, build to it.
Mastery unlocks are good too for that, maybe there is a room or a furniture that you want, aim for them.
The Silent Assassin objective doesn’t warn you about destroying the surveillance tapes before exiting the mission. Looking at the objective makes you think you’re on course for getting SA, but it shows as failed after the mission ends.
In this case, I was aware I was recorded on camera, but wanted to test this out once. It’s possible in a longer run that you may forget you were recorded on camera and then fail the prestige objective thinking you’ve done everything right.
As a suggestion, they could probably add a “destroy the surveillance” besides the objective like they do with other Payout objectives.
I never forget when I’ve been recorded, it gnaws away at me until I correct it, whether I’ve dealt with my mission objectives yet or not. And unless I’m in Bangkok or Isle of Sgail, the two locations where destroying the security systems are the most problematic, I always disable the security system even if I know I won’t be anywhere near a camera, just in case. Except when I’m doing an accident only mission, but I’m not ready for that yet in Freelancer.
It’s very easy to get rid of the cameras in Sgail, just shoot the recorder in the chapel when hiding behind the altar, or the one in the room below Block (scale the wall, enter from the window and shoot from there) Both can even be done suit only without much trouble.
I avoid shooting the security systems unless absolutely necessary. If I can’t disable them by hand easily, I just stick to avoiding the cameras. In the case of Sgail, when I can spare the space, I take the emp in and just place it next to a console, but I have to get a proper disguise to do this first, or KO multiple NPCs, hence why Sgail is one of the more problematic ones. And the one in Bangkok is just ri-goddamn-diculous.
It does not. Ironically, not even the wet floor signs + puddles do either. Make Target Slip can ONLY be completed with a banana or a grapevine. I’d really also like to see bar soap added as a object for slipping. I feel like it must have been intended for that purpose because it’s everywhere in H3 bathrooms but seems to have no purpose.
I’d like the bar of soap to be made into an emetic. The idea being 47 crushes it in his hand and sprinkles it into the food or drink, the person feels ill from the soap (or just gets grossed out from the taste) and go puke.
And that’s why IO invented “perfect shooter” objective - frankly the mercers for that should be at least 1,500 not 500 to increase incentive AND explosions (including EMP) that don’t harm/blind an NPC should also fail that objective.
Honestly even with a 5000 merces prize I wouldn’t even bother with “perfect shooter” most of the time. In contracts it can be interesting to design some puzzles around that but in Freelancer it’s just annoying.
Why? Why would you want to make that stupid fucking objective even more difficult than it already is? Haven’t IOI done enough damage to this mode having objectives at all, and you want them even more strict?
Isn’t this challenge a bit ridiculous? Feels like I’ve been playing Freelancer endlessly and it’s still 1/5th completed
It can always be worse no matter how insanely hard it seems.
But why do you think it should be worse?
Yeah so do I. Nearly every time I seem to do it it’s ‘Crime Noticed’ and all hell breaks loose
IOI on May 11: We heard man of you were disappointed with the small pool of Prestige Objectives, so we’ve added a single new one :^)
Silent Assassin Suit Only No Firearms No Combat No Pacification No Hiding No Climbing/Vaulting No Instinct No Trespassing No Fun - 5000M
Nah
Need a new challenge/trophy called top T-Rex for 200
