Freelancer - General Discussion

Hmm doesn’t it have the same effect as throwing a muffin or banana? Knockdown (not knockout)? Iirc, that has enough purpose to me.

Hitman economics:
Jar of water: 500 merces
Innocent life: 50 merces

PS: 47 lives next to a lake.

This is how Alexa is so rich: she waited for it to rain in Britain (all the time btw) and she collected it in jugs, easy money

Has there been any better developments on the ‘Check Stocks’ or is it pure RNG? Does anyone actually use it, because just seems a huge gamble.
I generally check it when I’m done for the day. If it causes negative money, I turn off the PS5. If it goes up, I load into a new mission and then turn it off to save the money increase. I know it’s effectively Alt+F4ing, but meh, sue me

There’s also one for killing 500 leaders, and you can only kill 4 per campaign so it effectively means you’ll have to complete 125 campaigns to get both if you don’t fail a lot along the way :x There’s been a lot of talk about how GOAT’s requirements were ridiculous during the CTT (it used to be 10k) but somehow these two went under the radar  I wish IOI will halve the requirements for all that grindy stuff somewhere along the way because that feels more like “random high numbers thought in 10 seconds” than “balanced values extrapolated after playtesting” to me.

AFAIK it’s pure RNG.

However I think there’s an experiment to be made here. If you can check the stonks and turn off the console to negate a merces loss, it could be interesting to check them again upon restarting the game to see 1/ if it’s still a loss 2/ if the numbers are the same. If it’s case 2 it means that’s seeded from constants and there’s not much to be done about it, but if it’s not it uses more random values so it might be manipulated towards either lessening the loss or maybe turning it into a profit.

Exiting to the main menu has the same consequences as dying on a non-alerted mission. I thought it would be the same as exiting the mission without killing the targets. A fact I wasn’t aware of until level 98 lmao. A million mercers and some big weapons gone thanks to my stupid ass.

Edit: It even gives the warning when you are trying to exit to the main menu. I simply didn’t pay attention :skull:

500 M? Those suppliers are charging me 600 M for the water! Must be Atlantide

Must likely be bugged, but it definitely does this sometimes. This was me in New York after being recorded on camera -

And then a few minutes later after destroying the CCTV recorder -

It’s only the “No Firearms” one that doesn’t display it. Whether IO didn’t think to set it up, or choose not to do it because it would make the objective ridiculously long I don’t know.

But it’s definitely not in the “happens occasionally” category.

Only the original Silent Assassin objective gets this reminder/notification. All Silent Assassin Additional Requirement objectives don’t.

Easily fixed by replacing that ridiculously long “destroy surveillance recorder” by a simple “destroy recording” :x

(Of course, an even better fix would be enabling the SA icon in Freelancer  )

Would make sense to add that in to be fair.

WTF the suspects can do the dance with Zaydan’s soldiers?

Any NPC in the school will. I’ve previously done it with Claus and got him to dance right next to Reza on the platform.

Don’t you already have the pistol by the time you unlock this?

That’s why I left everything in there. I’d rather have my cool Easter egg intact.

Do these items respawn upon restart if you take them?
