Oh shit you’re joking? I’ve just posted about Hardcore mode in another thread and I was actually thinking of starting it today. Think I’m going to wait until after the patch.
Been playing Freelancer since it came out, almost non-stop, and it’s only now for the first time I’m getting the vault as a starting location in the safehouse.
For some reason that start makes the stock exchange impossible to interact with.
I hope May 11 fixes all objectives related bugs because this is plain fucking bullshit.
I know it’s just a game, but seeing this keep happening is really sad
Yes, it’s the worst. The biggest middle finger I’ve ever received in any game-playing experience.
How the hell is that happening? What system are people playing on that has that?
AFAIK it’s not system specific so the only ways to prevent this bug are 1/ not using vehicle exits and 2/ not playing HC :x
Yeah. I recall reading a post somewhere here (or a comment on a youtube video ) saying to avoid using vehicle exits.
Or was it… If you use a vehicle exit - skip it immediately / don’t let it play out(?). Better to just avoid them altogether!
I haven’t had this happen yet and it makes me afraid.
Yesterday a random on location crate gave me a pistol. Im at freelancer mastery level 66 and i dont remember ever seeing an actual weapon in one of those crates.
You do, very, very rarely though, I’ve only had one in my first campaign snd never again, I’m on my 25th
Mastery 60 and never seen a pistol in a crate
I got the silver Krugermeier .22 from a crate like that
47 takes a bubble bath.
With suspects and lookouts swarming around - these blend-in spots certainly do come in handy.

Edit: You can see the PO is Silent Assassin - No Firearms. But I ended up Alt+F4’ing out when I was worried about getting rid of surveillance camera evidence, then got caught by a guard I was almost going to KO. I flooded a sink and got too close to him.
At least the restart took around 4 minutes.
Well, I’ve had some “fun” today. I’m trying to finish the Burning Man challenge, which requires killing 25 suspects with fire. I had been using Chongqing’s computer core to repeatedly burn people but figured I would try using the cremation ovens in Hokkaido as an alternative. Except apparently you can’t put unconscious suspects in them! If IOI is reading this, please let us put unconscious suspects into ovens and shredders and the like. That was really frustrating to find out.
On a related note, apparently the ovens in Hokkaido (and possibly Whittleton Creek, et al but didn’t check) don’t cost mercers for non-target civilian kills. You still get the “non-target killed” message, but it just doesn’t cost you 50M like normal.
Anyway, at this point I had six unconscious suspects in the morgue sitting next to the ovens. What to do. Well, the only thing that makes sense: Kill everyone between that spot and the nearest oil barrel and do it the hard way.
Mission accomplished.
Just for future reference, last I checked the morgue doesn’t count as burning. It’s counted as “any method” in contracts mode. :)
I did that one by using Colorado for showdowns and doing the Wicker Man thing.
Would it be too late at the second screenshot to quickly mash down on Alt-F4 or the console equivalent before the third screenshot happens?
Maybe. Still, needed evidence of this crap happening so it’s a priority for the to fix.
Of course Alt-F4 is useless if the successful failure bug is 100% consistent for certain mandatory objectives.
