Alright, I’m curious if this is just my own luck being weird, or if this is actually as rare as it is for me. How many people have gotten the Bracelet clue for leaders? You can see the icon for it as the icons on the board cycle through (before the actual clues are locked in) and I’ve seen plenty of suspects who are wearing watches or bracelets, but I have only gotten it as a clue once, during the CTT.
I have never gotten the Bracelet/Watch clue
I have rarely gotten the Bracelet/Watch clue
I have gotten the Bracelet/Watch clue about as much as the other clues
Up until I read your post, I didn’t even know there was a bracelet/watch clue. I have never gotten it, neither in the CTT nor in Freelancer after it shipped.
It seems like a strange thing to do. The simplest answer is it’s still just extremely rare. I’m not necessarily disbelieving you, but I would like some sort of source if you have one. :)
I have no source, I just know 100% that since Freelancer launched - I never had the trait show up once while I was going through and completing every challenge in the mode. There were also quite a few people complaining about this trait in the CTT due to some targets having long sleeves and when the suspects are enforcers it was very hard to confirm if the target had a watch or not.
I’d be very surprised if they just made one single trait mega rare for no reason after the CTT, where it appeared quite frequently.
I watched a decent bit of CTT footage in the hype before release, and it definitely looked more rare than the other clues to me. I only saw it once, as one of the clues on that person’s first leader, then never again. That matches with my personal experience of it showing up exactly once, then never again.
I’m actually looking at some possibly-relevant files right now. I’m not done yet, but I have a suspicion what might be the cause. Either that, or I’m looking at loosely related nonsense that doesn’t imply anything. We’ll see!
This is an interesting post regarding the amount of XP needed to reach each Freelancer mastery level. It also has a nice chart, which really shows, why level 91-100 are so tricky to get. You almost need as much XP to get from 90 to 100 as you need from 0 to 90
I don’t remember how far along I was in the campaign, but I did have over 900K in … I was on a Showdown in Sapienza in HC mode. I’m near the door going to the lab, between Isabella’s grave and below that pool… I have one suspect coming back and another going to the ruins. One has a bodyguard/assassin following her. Figuring I’d be caught regardless of being in the grass by that door I make the foolish decision to try and kill them… Then the assassin one-shots me and I’m down.
It was unfortunate, and it rightly ticked me off at first, but I soon got over it. Which surprises me. Maybe because I feel it was unavoidable and not the game screwing me over via some unfair or unexpected bug.
Back to 0. Just started over again on HC Mode. Take 3
Well those were impatient ppl then. Cuz when the target is an enforcer, wait until they stop moving and do their tell. You can see them quite easily from enough distance with the zoomed in camera.
The twins ET also had long sleeves and only had the watch as the way to identify them. Ya albeit they weren’t enforcers, but again, when you wait until they stop walking, that’s when you can see what is on their hands/wrists.
I just failed another Hardcore campaing because stupid bugs.
Escaped Chonqing via the scooter with 47 seconds to spare from a Hide & Seek prestige objective and says I failed.
All targets dead, Diana telling me to get back to the safehourse. This is fucking bullshit. Also, the prestige objective was marked as completed at the results screen. What the hell is going on?
I’ve finally reached Level 100 Mastery in Freelancer! Even with the “Level 100” on the back, I still think it’s a pretty good looking suit. It’s interesting that they made another short sleeve suit with solid gloves instead of driving gloves, the only other short sleeve suits with solid gloves are the Casual Suit with Gloves and the never-released Tactical Turtleneck with Gloves. I think all the Freelancer suits look pretty good, though I wish the Gauze Suit had two adjectives like every other Freelancer suit.
With reaching level 100, I’m going to be taking a break from most things in Hitman 3 for a while, though I still plan on doing the ETs/new challenges when they come up and I’ll still talk with y’all on here. Freelancer is great, but I was starting to get burned out around level 80 or so. So far it’s provided me with 226 hours of entertainment, which is really impressive given it’s a single piece of post-launch content released after the game was 2 years old.
I’ve completed most of the challenges in the mode. The only non-insanely long challenge I haven’t done is High in Fiber cause I prioritized doing objectives instead of fiber wire kills. With the other challenges, I’m 47.56% of the way to completing the GOAT challenge, 28% of the way to the Top Dog challenge, and 25.4% of the way to the Employee of the Year challenge. Given how much time I’ve spent with Freelancer and how far I still have to go on the challenges, I’m putting them in the category of “things I want to complete eventually but never seem to get around to finishing” along with the Sniper Assassin masteries, the many uncompleted Featured Contracts, and Professional mode in Hitman 2016.
I don’t know when I’ll come back to Freelancer. Maybe if they add new (fun) challenges to do, expand it to the side missions, add new Syndicate types, or significantly reduce the amounts of stuff needed to complete the challenges. I’m sure many bugs will be fixed in the May patch, but I doubt that alone will be enough to get me to come back to the mode. Freelancer’s fantastic, but it isn’t keeping me engaged for the huge amount of time IO expects players to play it.
I don’t know why, but whenever I try to play Freelancer, my game crashes on loading screen when entering destination. I made sure I don’t have any mods installed, but it did not work.
EDIT: It turns out I had file of Freelancer variations lying inside retail folder, and after deleting it, game stopped crashing on me.
Do you play using a controller? Have you tried the mumbo-jumbo ritual where you rotate the analog sticks, and press all the triggers and buttons before it gets to the point where it consistently crashes?
Seriously. Give it a try. I’ve had it to crash on me while loading up a mission/destination, and for whatever reason it seems doing this would prevent that.
Edit: If you use K&M… I suppose do the equivalent. Good luck.
Played a brief campaign yesterday and finally got myself to level 100 as well, I had been most of the way there (level 99) for months but I took a long break because the gameplay loop has gotten old and some of the maps your forced to get (as I always need a showdown in Mendoza because its just so easy and convenient) can be really annoying and take too long, mainly that of Ambrose Island, Colorado, Mumbai, and strangely Hokkaido (Usually I would consider myself pretty good at this map, but for some reason it just takes too long. It’s disappointing especially since I consider it to be the best map in the entire series).
I definitely now think the long term challenge goals are set too high though, they should really be halved. Especially the campaigns completed challenge, even with speedrunning campaigns and having grinded a lot early in the release cycle I’m only up to 39 out of 100 campaigns completed (with having to complete even more than that theoretically to get the employee of the year challenge).
