Freelancer - General Discussion

I know, I’m just clarifying for anyone following along the exact situations where you can, to supplement your points of when you can’t. It took me a while to figure out the pattern, I don’t want anyone else who still isn’t clear to be in the dark.

Looks like I found another bug, but a minor one this time. I just got 10k merces for finishing the first syndicate, despite still missing the common HWK21 Pale so it seems it’s been excluded from syndicate reward crates somehow? That’s strange since I remember getting it from there in the early Freelancer days :x

I swear, in no other map does shit go to shit so easily and quickly as Hokkaido for me. I know people don’t love Ambrose so much, Santa Fortuna, Bangkok, Colorado obviously… but no other map straight screws me like Hokkaido. Alerted, non-alerted, in my suit or as a bodyguard, shit just goes to shit so easily and quickly in Hokkaido for me, consistently, mercilessly, without regard for my feelings or time.

I thought this objective only gets ruined if the body is put into a body bag. At least that’s how i remember it in escalations. You wouldn’t fail the mission until the actual body is in the process of being put in a body bag then the objective is failed. Is it different in freelancer or do i remember incorrectly?

It is different in freelancer, the objective description also says that it will fail if the body is discovered.
Freelancer has its own sets of rules for some objectives.

Nope. If anyone, even another target, sees a target who is not up and walking around awake, if they’re pacified or dead, the objective is failed, with no ability to reset it, such as by killing another target who saw the body.

If you exit the mission without hiding target bodies in a body dump, even if nobody found them, the objective is failed

That too, forgot that one.

You can shoot a KO’d npc with the Sieker and it will count as poisoning them but it doesn’t work with the Kalmer.

Freelancer one year anniversary!

I must say, a bit disappointed that there was no acknowledgment of it. I was kinda hoping that the occasion would be used to present the 2024 plans, and to finally release the Coin™.

Sad, no special event at birthday of Freelancer on January 26th. This is a bad omen for the future of Hitman 3.

Freelancer is practically a new game in itself, plus they’ve said content was coming in this fourth year; it’s within reason for us to expect something.

Aside from Freelancer, the game mostly limped its way through Year 3 - so I’m just expecting more of the same as, if not worse than, Year 3 for this coming year. So I’m not that surprised really that the “birthday” of Freelancer came and went unmarked.

Haha, completed that damned challenge that requires 47 katana kills. Now the only daunting ones, aside from the multiple prestige challenges and the 100 campaigns, is the 100 headshots with the Russian sniper rifle, and fortunately, the version from the prison sniper map has a suppressor and it counts toward the challenge.

We’re getting Year 4 content, so I’m pretty confident Freelancer will be getting some further love and attention when we get the roadmaps and news coming, which should be imminent.

Like I’ve posted above, Year 4 content is coming this year, so like others have pointed out, I’m confident Freelancer will get some further work at some point this year.

Exactly! Like we’ve discussed, Freelancer has some bugs that need batching up, but I’m confident it will get further updates sometime this year besides bug fixes.

I wonder why would you expect any

IO’s post on 2024 reads as one big non-announcement to me. If they had anything substantial up their sleeve, that would have been the time to tease it.

It’s when I finally knew that IO have moved on. To me, it means we’re getting seasonal roadmaps of challenges, maybe the occasional game update, and some new Elusive Targets. Nothing like new DLC, maps, or substantial updates/additions to Freelancer.

Hope I’m wrong though, but don’t think I am.

Let’s see what happens with the Year 4 content first. They haven’t even released the first roadmap yet.

How do you know? New updates and challenges could mean new unlocks etc for Freelancer? In the past once we’ve completed challenges, we’ve been rewarded new suits and weapons? An example of that was the Black Bruiser in Freelancer not that long ago. We might also finally get the long anticipated Easter, Halloween and Xmas decorations for the Safehouse this year.
