I was last in Dubai with a handshake burner phone

4 suspects and the leader was meeting and handshake

I got the phone

Signaled and when suspect got there I wasn’t given credit.

I did eliminate one of the suspects not leader to get a phone.

My last showdown was a ? Secret but it worked as I did the same thing

So what am I missing or am I doing wrong

I always make sure to have the phone that the real leader has.

Edit or update

Just got it but weird

Dubai again

Agenda again but this time I got credit for it

I just completed 65 campaigns. Without hunting money, safes and objectives I’m very fast. I hope to complete 100 campaigns till september. I try to get only easy objectives, just to avoid that playing could become too booring, but if to complete them I need too much time (for example “only suit”) I ignore it. I don’t care

Suggestions for accomplishing “Collateral Kill - Accident” and “Melee Weapon Kill” on the same target (syndicate leader in this case)?
I have a long-bladed melee weapon (I think it’s called “ancestral katana”; I have an ordinary tanto as well).
My other prestige options are “Sniper Kill - Epic” and “Silent Assassin”, and the optional complications are “No Bodies Found” and having to use sedative poison on the target.

If I want to accomplish all objectives + prestige, I have to choose “Silent Assassin”, yes?

Thanks in advance.

You could try to do a push kill on them, IIRC that would count for both. Personally I wouldn’t risk it and go for SA instead (or just skip the melee objective altogether).

If you want a perfect run, yes, you would need to go for SA because of the Melee Weapon Kill objective.

For future reference though, whenever you have Collateral Kill - Accident, you can satisfy this by getting a target and non-target close together, right at a ledge. If you toss them both off a lethal drop in back-to-back succession, you will succeed at the objective. For whatever reason, IOI give you a reasonably generous timer when chucking bodies off a ledge.

Pushing a target from a ledge also counts for melee weapon kill, as well as drowning and breaking the neck.

Thank you, Melusca, Olipro, and Lindolfo; I had no idea that pushing people off a ledge counts for so many objectives. I will practice this in story mode first to see how promptly, on average, I can two people off a ledge.

Can I use the creek in Whittleton Creek to, for example, to lure (or emetic poison) the leader to water’s edge then sedate him and push him before he falls then push another vomiting person? Since it’s a showdown, I don’t believe I can sedate the leader without him fleeing if woken… true? I won’t be able to use a house window as they do not appear to have a “push” (people out of window) option, and the ditch in the northeast roadwork would require preparation to remove all witnesses before attempting the kills. I could try the railing leading to basements then drag the corpses to a basement container to not lose “body found” also, but the sedate-then-push time seems too tight for my klutzy fingers.

Best regards.

Best regards.

Ideally you’ll have knocked them out and dragged them into position, can’t go wrong with a push kill if they’re unconscious. Especially if, as in your example, you’re going to use the creek. Alternatively though, you can use a crowbar to open manhole covers in the road and dump people down those, too - that’s also a push kill.

A little prestige trick I discovered, not sure if it’s been mentioned before but it’s a little trick to start a new campaign with some cash and a legendary weapon after you prestige.

After completing the campaign back at the safe house you have run to the prestige button and hit it super fast. Also don’t open the final reward chest before you do it.

Your weapons and money will disappear but then after a brief delay you’ll get 35k+ for beating the previous campaign and not opening the crate will let you pick up a legendary weapon to start out with.

A lot better than starting out with 0 merces and no weapons when you prestige normally.

Rushing is unnecessary.

The optimum strategy (assuming that you also have all Freelancer Tools when you prestige):

  1. Leave whatever Freelancer tool you want to get back in the final level, probably the kalmer/sieker.
  2. Once you return to the safehouse, open the reward crate, do not take the 30K merces coin, just back out.
  3. Open the freelancer tool crate, again, don’t take item.
  4. Activate prestige and then help yourself to everything. You will now have 60K Merces & whatever Freelancer tool you left behind.

I’m not really following you. If you don’t go fast you’ll get the 30k campaign + Final mission payout and then when you prestige you’ll lose it. If you go fast to prestige button you’ll lose all your money first then get the 30k campaign bonus + final mission payout a couple seconds after losing all your money.

I also prefer getting a legendary weapon to start instead of an extra 30k. Not sure if your method gives you that option?

That’s a sweet trick about the freelancer tool you want to save though, never thought of that!

I much prefer rushing. If you’re fast enough (and Diana has a longer voice line) you can Prestige and lose your money, but then still get the payout from your previous mission after your other money was deducted from the Prestige.

Even without the extra level payout, I still prefer having 30k Merces + a guaranteed Legendary over 60k Merces. The Legendary itself is worth at least 20k (with a 44% chance of getting one worth more than 30k Merces). Plus, the 10k loss is more than made up for the fact that it’s one less Legendary you need to wait to spawn in the shop, it automatically gives you an item to fulfill the relevant _____ Kill - Epic Prestige Objective (with a 77% chance of also being able to do the Headshot Kill - Legendary one too), and being able to get all the non-thematic Legendaries earlier which gives you a second chance to get the Collector’s Kalmer/Sieker for free from the crate. Very helpful if you’re on the Freelancer grind and are trying to get a Prestige level done in 5 Campaigns or less.

The “Campaign Won” bonus isn’t awarded until you pick up what is inside the reward crate.

At least that’s how it used to work. I haven’t touched Freelancer in about six months.

Nah you get it without picking up the reward crate. I guess they changed it?

I’ll make a video next time I do it. Probably be a couple days.

That’s my line of thinking too. A legendary weapon can allow to complete a lot of prestige objectives and it’s worth more to me than 30k when I got nothing. I only play on hardcore though, so completing prestige objs is of the utmost importance.

Also I’ve never had an issue with how long D’s voice line is. As long as you run over to the prestige button and hit it and hit yes twice quickly, it’s never been an issue for me.

Having performed the exact strategy I described above, 2 days ago, on PC, it absolutely does not.

If for some reason the embedded timecode doesn’t work for you, it’s 6:26:32

Oh… it does not need to be the prompt key of “push”? “Dump (eliminate)” works also?
Thank you, Olipro, for this information.

I was trying to kill various folks across three maps using only “push”, and the fastest was 8 seconds because people who are next to each other either will result in person B…

  1. sees me pushing person A, even if I have successfully used a Sieker on person B (and they are showing the nauseous reaction) or;
  2. turns away from ledge so no longer has a “push” prompt key option.

If I allow person B to take a few steps away before killing person A, or I kill two people who are not next to each other, it results in the longer time between kills.

I’ll try practicing the “dump (eliminate)” two unconscious bodies.

Best regards.

I’ve finally reached the point where I feel confident in playing Freelancer in accordance with my Parameters of Perfection, much means fully-gloved outfits and everything, and the Espionage missions, of all things, are kicking my ass at the moment, throwing things at me like Do not get spotted, Suit only, and Do not pacify at me at the same time, in alerted Hokkaido. I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again a thousand times: God, I hate the optional objectives being part of this mode.

I don’t know which is worse, having all of them objectives in alerted Hokkaido or Colorado? :joy: Joking aside, if optional objectives were to say be removed from Freelancer, what you your alternative be? Would you just have Freelancer operate with a structure like in the campaign missions?

I would prefer that you have the option to turn off or leave on each individual objective, and that if you do turn any off, the amount of Mercers they were good for is added to the base payout for completing the mission.

For example, you start a mission with a 1000 base payout, and all three optional objectives are also 1000. Say you turn off two of them: the base payout changes to 3000, and you are left with a single optional objective worth 1000, and if you don’t complete it, you forfeit the amount it gives you, as usual, and you walk away with only 3000, unless you also select a prestige objective and complete it as well.

That would be my ideal scenario for Freelancer.
